I know this looks bad, but let’s not rush to judgement. Can you prove the vase wasn’t always like this? And you say you heard a crash, but could it have been just the wind? Or a duck? So many unknowns here.
![It's not all it's cracked up to be, anyway. Cat next to broken vase](https://i0.wp.com/cutetropolis.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/b8JH1BR.jpg?resize=636%2C832&ssl=1)
I guess we’ll never know, Andrew Y.

They always look so adorable you find yourself not caring.
I’ll bet it was the duck.
Oh sure.
Everybody pick on the duck.
Sorry, I was going to specify, “not Duckie” but then I didn’t. I blame the fact that I was at work.
I would forgive this kitty for anything–such a beauty!
love the eyes on the kitty that match the celadon glaze!
Yes, this needs the matchingks tag!
What a Precious Moments expression
I am unfortunately catless at the moment. However I will let that kitty break all the vases in my house should it decide to move in with me.
It’s moments like these that make you realize all over again that living beings are more important than things.
Also, I’m pretty sure it was the wind.
What an adorable foofball who has never done a thing wrong in their life. Best comment from Imgur – Clearly this vase killed itself in a fit of despair and dustiness. And I concur with that assessment of the situation.
Cats ARE the arbiters of good taste. According to them my couch deserves to be shredded, the oriental carpet looks so much better with a fringe- all the way around, shelves are meant to display cats, not fragile keepsakes, and curtains- let’s just take ’em down. There! All better.
