I saw the story about the cat experiment and meant to send it on to Mike–so glad someone was more responsible than me! Cats are just so weird.
I’ve also seen videos of cats smacking those looks-like-it’s-moving illusions. You’ve gotta wonder how far back you need to go to find the common ancestor who originated our visual processing. I wonder if anyone’s thought of a way to run this experiment on cuttlefish or something.
