Funny I happened to see most of the today’s links yesterday, nothing else to do than waste time on the computer since we’re in the middle of a heat wave here, it’s 8:30 and it’s already 25C/77F but feels like 29C/84F and it’s going to go up to 34C/93F today with a humidex of 40C/104F!!
I’m going for my second shot of Moderna this morning, I’ll feel a lot more confident going out and about and being around people after I’m fully vaccinated.
Yay for second shots! I got my second (Pfizer) four weeks ago tomorrow. Still erring on the side of wearing a mask at stores, at least (they lifted the state mandate last Friday but I don’t know if stores are still asking for them), and at work but they said we don’t have to if we’re vaccinated starting Wednesday; we’ll see how I feel about that. But I was at my parents’ last week and I felt fine without it with just the four of all vaccinated.
I saw the rat retiree yesterday but the rest are new.
It was 81°F here before 9:00.
Need some cute today. We’re getting our semi-annual dumpster at my complex today and they say it gets dropped off at 8:00 so I planned to go into work a little late this morning. They still weren’t there at 8:15, so I had to leave. And I passed a truck with a dumpster on the back about a mile away and I’d bet it was them. 🙄 Now I have to figure out what to do with the crap in my car because I have a service appointment on Thursday, so I need to clean out the car, but I do not want to bring it back into my house. With any luck the dumpster will still be there when I get home but I am not holding my breath. Aggravated.
Can I take a ride with motorcycle pup? Somewhere far away?
Amazing animals today. Magawa, the rat bomb disposal technician. The acrobat cat Posey using stairs for her routines. Charlie, the intelligent, thoughtful chipmunk (OK this one I found worrisome – so if chipmunks are intelligent animals with memories, lives, feelings, are we going to find out about intelligent insects with feelings soon, because I hate a lot of them and kill them on sight).
Relax—what insects have for brains is soooooo tiny! Squash away!

Love Posey and Sox, the motorcycle riding doggy. She’s such a silly baby girl and so great that Sox’s owner includes in his adventures. Such a patient dog to wear both goggles AND a helmet. Cat cracked me trying to get the coin.
And yeah for everyone getting their jabs. It’s such a feeling of freedom to have it and be able to meet up with people without wearing masks. We had our first neighborhood get together in about a year and we were all so happy to finally sit and visit.
Everyone must have stolen SoCal’s heat, it’s only 62 at 10:30, with clouds and some spitting drizzle. High is only supposed to get to 65. Brrrrr, I’m wearing my flannel shirt to stay warm. This must have happened because I uncovered my jacuzzi yesterday trying to get it ready for the summer. It’s kinda like wash your car and it rains the next day, lol.
I will gladly trade weather with you. Luckily Thursday and Friday, when I’m off, are supposed to be cooler.
[And they just sent out an email half an hour ago telling us that the dumpster is full. So much for that hope.]
