Well, of course. What else would an orange kitty turn into?
I have a sad today; something ran across the street and right under my car on my way home last night. I’m not sure but I think it might have been a cat. I just saw a dark shadow darting towards my car at the last second and didn’t even have time to think about hitting the brakes (and if I had I might well have caused the car behind me to hit me). It was dark and wooded and there is no shoulder or street lights there so there is no safe place to pull over and I couldn’t see anything. If he isn’t miraculously okay somehow, I just hope it was quick and that he wasn’t someone’s pet. (Part of me wants to drive back along the route to see if I see anything, but I’m working from home today and it’s rainy, and I don’t know what good it would do, anyway, but possibly make me feel worse.) π’

Oh Allein! I’m so sorry!! This is such an awful feeling!! π

Hugs, Allein. Don’t beat yourself up. Accidents are accidents.
I too hope that the critter found help or a peaceful end. Roads are dangerous for animals, and this one sounds like it’s barely safe for people either.
I’ll make a donation to our local Humane Society in honor of this baby. They do great TNR work and rescue work–the more cats are safe and loved, the happier our world will be.

Yeah, it makes me nervous especially in the dark. Sometimes I take the longer route on the highway if my general anxiety level is high just because of that. Add in blinding headlights from other cars and itβs just kinda scary.

I’m so very sorry, Allein. We all know you would never do anything like this on purpose. Let alone without regret. I share your hope that whatever it was turned out to be okay (miraculously or otherwise).

Little Penny playing with her big goggie brothers–squeeeeeeee. But please secure your cats when they’re in the car, people!
I desperately want to see the unseen rock thrower. It makes such a perfectly round hole.
Must save everything else for later.

We can laugh at the stone-throwing mystery beast defending it’s house, but wait until it comes back with the boiling oil…

OK it is funny but I don’t think the kitty can get free by himself so I do hope the person didn’t leave him with his mouth stuck in the cardboard too long.
DanaDecember 29, 2021 / 11:31 am
I was thinking that too.
Penny and her two big brothers are so well color-coordinated.
Allein – so sorry to hear that. There was nothing you could have done, but I’m sure that won’t make you feel better. I too hope it was quick.

Max and Blue are dedly. In the cutest possible way, of course, but still lethal.

Orions d Destiny are an amazing pair of friends. Itβs wonderful that they found each other.

We should all be so lucky, to have such a friendship in our lives. Love these two.

I learned something absolutely adorable yesterday. If your bird partially opens its wings upon seeing you, it makes a heart shape from the back, and is considered to be a hug.
Allein, Duckie and I are both sending you hugs.
That’s the scariest staple remover I’ve ever seen.
π
If I could do emojis on my computer keyboard, I’d repeat Allein’s.
It’s also the funniest staple remover!

Aw, that’s sweet! Your stories make me want a little birdie…sometimes.
Thanks for the hugs & stuff, everyone. I knew this place would make me feel better.
What a lovely thing to learn, and know.
I’m plunking this here because there’s no perfect place. I hope it cheers up anyone who needs some cheer. File under “Everybody’s a Critic.”
Those birds are absolutely hilarious. I wonder what else is in their repertoires.
I looked at their YouTube channel. Birds are definitely dinosaurs.
Seriously, that was very funny. I hope Peter Appleyard isn’t invited to any of their parties.

I love how the white one looks over like “what the heck just happened?”…then proceeds to apparently wilt and start snoring.
