Lil Bub has sent a new ambassador! All hail Mr. Marbles!

Picked up my new glasses the other day and finally put them on this morning (I should have been wearing them the last two days, especially since I had three days in a row working from home, but I’m not very smart sometimes). Now to figure out if the weirdness is just because I need to adjust to a new prescription or if something is wrong…..

    • Dulcie January 20, 2022 / 10:51 am

Well definitely wear them for a day. But in my experience wonky means wonky prescription or manufacturing. ☹️

At first when I looked straight at my work computer the center was okay but if I looked slightly to the side (without moving my head) it was blurry, so like my email inbox list was okay but the folders list on the left was blurry. That seems to be going away. But if I move my head the whole thing sort of tilts slightly. Can’t decide if that’s the same as it was or if it’s getting better, too.

Doesn’t help that my eyes are feeling dry and teary at the same time. Which they were when I woke up so it might not have anything to do with the glasses other than that I’m “looking” for problems so I’m probably noticing it more.

When I got my first Progressive glasses, I was ping-ponging off of walls like a drunk for a day or two, but then things settled down. I absolutely love my current glasses and it was totally worth the wobblies and the strange looks!

My first pair took me a week before I even started to feel like things were settling down and another week before they felt normal. I’m trying to be patient because it’s only been a day and it’s gotten better. Had to drive this morning which was not terrible but not perfect. So hopefully things keep getting better. But it doesn’t help that I’m tired and it’s 17 degrees out and I couldn’t find my work ID (it fell between the seat and the console) and I don’t wanna be here.

Kefir’s head is as big as his mom’s. I choose to believe that someone played perspective tricks with the photo composition, because otherwise . . .

Harmonica man enchanted those geese. Maybe they heard a mating call in his music?

I think I’d be a bit hesitant to live with a cat that big. Probably a gentle giant but looks a little menacing, from the facial expression.

    • debg January 20, 2022 / 9:54 am

I would enjoy having my own jaguar, personally!

I fantasize sometimes about having a savanna cat. They’re so cute and beautiful, but I can’t justify buying from a breeder when there are so many homeless kitties, and also lol I can’t afford one.

He does look scary but I would love to have one! Remember Grumpy Cat? She wasn’t really grumpy. What a beauty!

Sweet Marshmallow finally has the life he deserves. Good on you, pup.

Also the dogs in their magic shoes are fantastical.

Yes DEBG, I do think there’s a bit of a perpective thick going on in the photo but Maine Coons are BIG ! But they also tend to be very mellow and loving.

  6. Dulcie January 20, 2022 / 10:54 am

Love watching the doggies try on their magic shoes. 💕

And I truly believe that every animal would respond to, and even sing along to music if given the chance!! 🎶

    Cat big, holy crap
    ?w=620

I can’t imagine the size of that litter box, the cost of litter and food. That’s more the size of a wild cat. We’re used to big dogs, not giant domestic cats.

Me: “But this IS a therapy cat.”
Mall security guard: “Ok, how is this a therapy cat?”
Me: “If kitty thinks yer making me feel insecure, yer gonna NEED therapy!”

    • debg January 20, 2022 / 12:35 pm

That’s why I want one too. Except I don’t go to the mall. But home invaders, LOOK OUT.

      • allein 🐾 January 20, 2022 / 12:57 pm

I have to go to the mall soon; my sunglasses are ready. I should just go after work tomorrow (but I also want to go to the grocery store and it’s one or the other, probably). Might wait a few more days to see if my other glasses get better (after ~5 hours they’re a little better, so that’s a good sign I hope). I could use a therapy cat to accompany me.

He’s a real life Bubastis (Adrian Veidt’s mutant lynx in ‘Watchmen’)

        • Blue Footed Booby January 21, 2022 / 10:45 am

Now I want to dye this kitty red.

    • Duckie 🐥 January 20, 2022 / 1:07 pm

I would take him on the bus.

  9. debg January 20, 2022 / 12:36 pm

Mr. Marbles hit the jackpot. That family will treat him like a king. As they should.

  10. Dubravkamcvmd January 20, 2022 / 5:45 pm

A house cat the size of a jaguar! Yesss! It should scare me but it doesn’t. So glad for Marshmallow. Those geese look so interested and happy.

    • allein 🐾 January 20, 2022 / 6:39 pm

How could anyone be scared of a marshmallow?

Fronky’s love for his mail carrier, and her love for him, is just beautiful. What a sweet pair.
