Welp, I think it might be a good idea to have porridge for breakfast. Adding golden raisins and chopped walnuts to my portion, to make it “just right”.

Off-topic. Am I the only one to have problems with sites wanting me to turn off ad-blockers? I don’t have any ad-blockers so there’s nothing to turn off.
In this post I can’t get past that warning at the boredpanda-´site. I’m on Firefox.

Have you tried clearing your cache? I don’t know why that would work in this particular case, but it can’t hurt.
Also, check your browser settings/preferences.
I do have ad-blockers installed, and sometimes Bored Panda bars me and sometimes it lets me “continue with ad-light experience.” This seems random to me, but perhaps it has something to do with when I last cleared my history.

I have the same ad blockers on every machine but only had that problem on some. I think on at least one of my machines I put in a bunch of effort to block the specific scripts that show the nag modal and prevent scrolling. But I failed to keep notes on *how.*
I’d be happy to whitelist sites I actually enjoy, but that’s not happening unless the sites can guarantee that no ads will be shown with any dynamic content. Until ads are back to being static jpgs, we can’t be remotely safe from them as avenues for maliciousness.

I’m afraid I’ve tried all of those, this problem exists on a lot of sites and there seems to be no solution to it.

Holy cow, I nearly threw my glass of water in the air when the cat jumped out of the car! 😂🤣

That was hilarious…

Best car alarm ever!
How are you feeling today?
DanaMay 30, 2022 / 4:15 pm
Better, thanks Debg. Feel like it’s starting to lift, yay!

You know, with bluegrass, the howling hound accompaniment just…works.

You’re right! And the dog was not at all intimidated by the audience. He’s clearly used to his musical contribution being appreciated.

The new residents of Central Park Zoo seem very interested, and maybe a mite concerned, by the smells of midtown Manhattan. The cockatoos excitement at meeting is touching, funny, and a little sad.

A bit better day today. Cat jumping out of car DEFINITELY helped.
Turned the cockatoo video up, and Duckie joined in.

I’d love to know what Duckie thought of the cockatoo interaction. Or do you think she just wanted to get their attention?

Holiday threadjack: Happy Memorial Day to everyone, and profound thanks to all who have served.
I’ve become a big fan of Tom Morello’s One Man Revolution on Sirius XM, largely because of Morello’s smart and intense focus on social justice. It’s not my kind of music, but it is my kind of activism. Tell the stories. Play the music. Make a stand even if people disagree (violently). Don’t just shut up and play guitar.

I like Tom Morello’s guitar playing. He seems to understand the difference between a guitar solo and a circle jerk, more organic understanding of being part of the song.
Not surprised that he’s focusing on social justice after Rage Against the Machine were openly political, would check it out if I had sirius.
And yes, happy Memorial Day. Would wear a red poppy if they sold them where I live.

OMG the bears are fantastic! They also bring back lovely memories of the Central Park Zoo. It was a favorite place way back when, because it was free and so charmingly laid out.
Also the cakes and their poem completely smacked my gob. Please please please can I have a sloth cake for my next birthday?

Silly human, that’s what happens when you leave your car door open. And Dana I think the guy was as startled as you. You can see him at the end kinda clutching his chest. Guess he won’t need coffee this morning to get going, lol. Love cockatoos, always wanted one until I heard them. Just wow, they need to come with volume control or a mute button. Those cakes are gorgeous, I volunteer to taste test them to see if they’re as delicious as they look.

That hippo cake isn’t “Patty”! It’s a portrait of our dear Fiona!

Just watched the cockatoos–what a riot! I loved hearing the kids laughing, and I bet the birbs did too.
