Happy Caturday! It’s laundry day today, so join us in the laundry room as reader Georgiana Y. tells us about Minnie and her favorite basket.
My old girl used to love sleeping in the laundry basket on top of the dryer. Unfortunately we had to replace the old washer and dryer and she doesn’t like them. She doesn’t jump up on them like she used to do with the old ones.
The other day I was putting the clothes away and left the basket on the bed and when I came back a few minutes later I found her in the basket. She looked so content I didn’t have the heart to disturb her.
But we’re not done with the laundry yet, because Teller, from reader Muppet2171, is here to make the dreaded fitted sheet folding even harder than usual:

Beautiful kitties to start off Sat. What is it with cats and laundry? Must be the warmth and softness. Used to have to ke any pets out of the bedroom when making a bed otherwise it’d take 10 times as long, shooing them off the bed, making sure they weren’t stuck under the covers, etc.
Happy Canada Day! And early Happy Fourth! Just relaxing this weekend, supposed to finally be warm here so might finally get a chance to use the pool.
Minnie refused to eat and had a bout of diarrhea yesterday. It always makes me very nervous every time she doesn’t feel well because I’ve never had a cat this old and I’m always expecting the worst but she’s fine today it’s like nothing happened.
ALLEIN I wouldn’t try to hug Minnie unless you want to be scratched, she hates to feel trapped but she’ll willingly climb on your laps for pets and head scrithes.

I had a very frustrating day yesterday. FINALLY the electrician came out to fit the new shower and extractor fan, which I thought would be the last job in the bathroom. Alas, he discovered a leak – albeit a very minor one – under the bath, so now I need another plumber! I was reminded of this old Flanders and Swann classic:

Minnie and Teller are so happy, I wouldn’t move them either. Such beauty should never be disturbed.
I’m off to a great start on my 4-day weekend! In a few minutes, I’ll begin warping my loom for its first project! There’s a beautiful kitty girl sitting on my lap as I type, and she’ll help me warp too.
Spent the morning getting the loom shipshape, then decided to clean parts of the kitchen that don’t often get this attention. Taking the handle off the oven door was easy; getting it back on was more challenging! Thank goodness for clamps–it was smart to keep the smaller sizes when I downsized my garage workshop.
