So happy for the rescues and especially the wombat getting his bottle! I would love to have a wombat crawl into my lap.

I would also like a wombat to crawl in my lap! My friend who vacationed in Australia before Covid
got to hold a wombat at a rescue. So jealous!
I have some tea that grey parrot is more than welcome to!
So worried for the fawn, even tho I knew she was rescued. How tired she must be! She’s gotta still be
with mom since she has spots?
Man rescuing dog— I can’t believe he jumped into those waters! I’ve seen vids of what it’s like there
and am in awe.

Duckie will drink my tea if it is presented to her in a very tiny spoon. Otherwise, she just tears apart the chamomile tea ag and eat the tea straight.
Cricket (the lovebird I used to babysit), on the other hand…
Birbie is welcome to come share my mug. I usually have tea most mornings – my favorite is the milder version of Earl Grey, Lady Grey. That was a crazy rescue of the man and dog from LA. It has been just dropping buckets of water for the last 2-3 days, I think we’ve gotten around 2-3 inches of rain total. Everything is just a mess. That is so cool and so sweet with the wombat crawling up into the lady’s lap for bottle time. Definitely need to go to Australia for a visit.
More crazy happenings at chez moi last night. Around 12:30 I hear someone running up our front steps and of course the dogs go crazy. I thought it might be the person delivering my produce box but instead it was some lady yelling. Since I couldn’t figure out what she was saying and couldn’t see her through the peep hole, I woke hubby up who listened on our Ring app and figured out she supposedly was beaten up, call the cops, etc. We couldn’t figure out where she went but then saw she was across the street banging on a neighbors door. So cops called and they plus an ambulance showed up then took her to the hospital for evaluation. Didn’t get back to bed til about 1:30. My butt is dragging this morning. Hope nothing goes on tonight. And my neighborhood is usually so quiet but now two random crazies in 2 weeks.

I’ve spent most of my life in quiet neighbourhoods where incidents like this are rare, but I once had a rather bizarre experience very late on a summer night. There was a gentle tapping at the door and I answered it to find a man who said “I’m sorry to bother you, but could you lend me some vinegar? We’re making mayonnaise.” It took a couple of seconds for my brain to process this question, but I lied and told him there was no vinegar in the house. I often wonder how many houses he had to visit in order to resume his mayonnaise-making.

Asking for vinegar to make mayonnaise late at night? OK that’s just weird.

Well, it’s certainly different from the old “cup of sugar” routine! Or even Grey Poupon.

I saw the dog rescue on the news, well actually the dog rescued himself it was his human who needed rescuing but kudos to him for going after his dog.
About to go make some tea…happy to share. ☕🦜
I’m looking forward to African Grey later today.

I would love to bottle feed a wombat!
