Realistic felt cats, playful armadillo, dogs rescued from flood, wombat rescuer, and more.
Armadillo playing with a stuffed animal is the cutest thing you’ll see all day

And finally: Wombat Rescuer
Murray C. brings us video of a tireless hero who saves wombats from mange.
Poor mama and puppies, I know that sometimes people can’t take their pets when they’re evacuating but locking the mama outside and the puppies alone inside is just cruel. Thank goodness for heroes like these two gentlemen.
I imagine it was a case of mom making a run for it, the people not knowing if she’d come back, and not being able to make themselves dump the pups outside in case she does. Not a lot of great choices there.
I’m glad they were reunited! What a horrible time!
I was wondering about that myself. Here’s a follow-up story with more info and what happened to the dogs.

Thanks for that link! So happy everyone is all right now.
Guy taking care of mange in wombats is a hero! They are soooo miserable with mange, the saddest thing😢
Also, I need a squirrel friend! I have so many that come to feed, and I just love their antics😊
Those fake cats are freaky realistic!
I never knew armadillos would play like that!
Pippo and Pippa are too sweet.
Videos will have to wait until later.
I want them. Tails entwined!!!
Best headline ever, Mike! I’m still giggling!
Love the wombat guy. Looking forward to all the linkies later.
Here’s an update on the dogs rescued by the football players:

Pippo & Pippa, such sweeties! Hope they get adopted together. Those felt cats are so lifelike I had to really look to see that real cats weren’t mixed in with them. I love Fred the squirrel and how he comes back to visit his rescuer. My neighbor when I was growing up helped orphaned and injured birds, and sometimes they’d come back to visit her. There was one woodpecker named Woody that we always recognized.
I swear armidillos are evolved from pillbugs.
They’re related in name (only): Pill bugs are Armadillidium vulgare.
Armadillos are apparently related not only to anteaters (not super surprising), but also to sloths! Who’da thunk it?
To SLOTHS??😳 Never would have guessed THAT.
Me, either. But it seems to be the case:
