Aw, poor Simon. I need to find some local businesses with cats…

Sweet Simon! Heal fast, buddy, so you can get back to your job.
We had a wild turkey hanging around work last week. Everybody called it Terry, because we didn’t know its sex. Haven’t seen them this week, so I’ll check in with the office staff–the turkey wanders right outside their windows.

When I was in college we had a wild turkey named Tom who lived on campus. He liked to hang out in a tree in front of the library, or else he could usually be found down by the lake. (He had a girlfriend named Jenny but she was hit by a car the year before I started school so I never saw her.)

the males have this weird forelock dead center of their chest. I have no idea why but it has to have some sort of function from an evolutionary standpoint.

So cool when stores have a cat or cats wandering around. Good for rodent control, but also for socialization between staff and customers. Also, if you’re in one of those families who refuse to have pets, for whatever reason, it’s a place where the kids can interact with one.
My niece’s friend has a high-functioning autistic brother, a teen, but because of this her parents refuse to let her have ANY pets, even fish! She loves to go to my niece’s to play with the cats. Don’t know how I’d have done not growing up with pets. Animals have always been a big part of my life.🐶🐹🐰🐱🐭

That’s kinda sad about your niece’s friend. Sometimes having pets helps the autistic children, they learn about responsibility, taking care of something/someone besides themselves, and some social interaction cues. Trust me, a cat that doesn’t want petting from you at a certain point, they will let you know!
I never could have fur pets growing up because my mom was allergic but we did have turtles and fish on a couple occasions. Good thing our neighbors had pets that needed walking and pet sitting. I just loved going over and visiting with them.

Pepper is really delightful. So is her wonderful family.
I love any animal doing zoomies!
Especially wombatses.
Simon and Pepper certainly have star quality!
