Cat lost in hurricane comes home, mama cat and kittens get fresh start, dog gives a loving look, and serene in a sunbeam.
And finally: Happy Friday!
Let’s start the weekend with this calm cat from reader Andrew Y.

The cat came back is the best/worst thing to ever come out of Canada LOL!!!
Love the NFB cartoons: Cat Came Back, Log Drivers Waltz, can’t remember others at the moment. Some of their short films were fun too.
When I was in elementary school, we watched “Neighbours”, a stop-motion film about two neighbours fighting over a flower. Then our teacher had the class create our own stop-motion film, moving chairs into the classroom. I’m sure we must have seen the final production, but I can’t remember. Such a long time ago.
So glad that Ricardo Blanco came back. Sending him virtual pets.
Could use a sunbeam to sit in right now, but sadly we have a rainfall warning in my area.
Rainy’s googly-eyed smiley face has made my morning 83% better.
Mine too! Such a cutie.
She has such energy and so feisty!
So happy for the animals who survived hurricanes. Sunshine kitty immediately relaxed me—which I desperately need right now. Got rear ended on the way to work, so I turned around and came home. I’m fine but know the aches may take a while to hit. Plus no idea how much time insurance will take.
Ouch! Glad you’re okay. I guess your car is drivable, at least? I’ve been rear-ended three times. The first totaled my car, and the next two got me a new rear bumper. Only the first one came with any major pain, but not until the next day.
Debg, ‘
if you’re not sure, go to the ER. hopefully some aspirin and hot shower is all that you need.
Took some naproxen and I’m in bed with the heated mattress pad turned on. I’ll nap soon. A delivery truck hit the SUV behind me, which then hit me, so I got the least of it. Car is drivable. It could have been a lot worse. The SUV and I were stopped at a red light.
Thank you both—I appreciate you so much.
That should help; that’s what the hospital gave me (prescription strength) after the one that totaled my car (I was at the ER for about four hours and they did neck x-rays just to be safe). Also had one of those soft neck braces to wear for a bit. The worst part was actually the seatbelt bruise that I didn’t feel until I tried to sit up in bed the next morning. I had to roll over my right side and drop to my knees on the floor; if my bed faced the other way I would have had to call my dad to help me get up. Thankfully my car got pushed to the right onto the grass and not left into oncoming traffic (I was waiting to turn left, but not at a light).
Sending healing purrs from the 3 cats.
Horrible way to start the day! Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. Take care.
Duckie sends you a gentle, mostly feathered hug, and will poop on the delivery truck driver for you.
So glad you’re OK. Keep us posted on any developments.
Oof. Hope your weekend is better than your Friday! I once got rear-ended by a bread delivery truck, and we got a lifetime supply of bread coupons to make up for the inconvenience (the Volvo was in the shop for weeks).
Oh, DebG, I’m so sorry this happened to you!😣 Get your rest, soak in a warm tub for awhile, have pain meds available. I hope the aches and pains are minimal.🤞🏽
So sorry DebG about the fender bender. Good that both you and the car have minor boo-boos.
Cat in the sunshine is recharging their battery. I know how they feel, nothing better than soaking up some rays when it’s cool out, and even better if you have a book! Loving the googly eye kitten Rainy. So happy that Ricardo is back with his family, talk about a survival story.
Gotta make everyone laugh. I lost my work ID and had to go get it replaced. There’s a place on the card that lists your affiliation with the university – staff, faculty, student, etc. Never looked at it until I got back to the office. Welp, guess I should start packing things up because they know something I don’t. The affiliation now states “Staff Retired”. When the heck did that happen??!!
AJ, I hope they’re compensating you accordingly for your service!
Oh, I will be when I finally do retire. I’ve been at the university about 15 years and am totally vested for my pension. I figure I’ll stay for another 5 years to make it 20 years total. Everyone in the office is having a good giggle over the ID. All I can figure is it was a student helping me and she must have just assumed since I have grey hair that I’m retired. Don’t put me out to pasture yet kiddo!
I started going grey at 26 and by 35 my hair was totally colorless. It often surprised people who only saw the top of my head–say at a drive-thru–that my face was much much younger.
Now, of course, I look every bit of my age.
For those of you who need a boost, let’s not wait: The dogs were good AGAIN this week!
This might be the best compilation ever. I’m cry-laughing over the goofy wonderful dogs. Also Molly the magic dog is the bestest girl.
And I’ll watch it again tomorrow if Allein posts it.
YES!! Soooooooo glad the dude who tied up Trooper was arrested for animal cruelty!
I love how Rocket bounces down the stairs☺️
The sneezing fits that Poppy has are a little frightening!
Maggie needs treats forever!
If I had 4 stumpy legs, instead of just 2, I’d go down stairs just like Rocket.
I could watch that on a loop
If you watch on the IG page it loops…
Jason the mailman needs an honorable mention and a shout out as an honorary Man of Cutetropolis.
Pretty sure that Warner B. and Looney Toons are trying to hire Poppi as a live action cartoon animal.
