You Can Now Edit Comments

Starting as always with the shout-out: Apparently reader Julie H.’s pets Chico and Poncho got ahold of her credit card and left me a generous donation via the tip jar. Way to go, kids.

Moving on: I’ve noticed situations in which readers could have used a way to edit their comments after leaving them, so I added a function to make that possible. After you submit your comment, you will have five minutes to edit it, by clicking the link that says “Click to Edit.”

I’ve been testing it and it seems to work as described, but if you encounter any problems or have questions, please let me know. Update: If you add an image to a comment, then edit the comment, the image will disappear, giving the impression that it has been removed. However, the image is still attached to your comment, and you can verify this by reloading the page.

Aug(de)mented Reality

We start with shout-outs to Patricia and Marcia for their contributions. Thanks! Update: Thanks to William for subscribing!

Andrew Y. sent in something I’d seen before, and it’s too good not to be shared widely: Aug(de)mented Reality, a series of animations by Hombre McSteez that superimpose cartoon characters onto real-world objects and places. Here’s the first in the series:

Where We Are Going

First off, shout-out to Jayn for her tip today. Thanks!

I’m glad so many of you enjoyed the “‘Tocks” post earlier. Although I am not as fascinated with ‘tocks, toebeans, nosicles, etc. as some of you, I fully understand what makes them fun. And that brings me to a larger point: This site can’t quite be Cute Overload 2.0. I have my own way of doing things, and my own things that I like.

But one of the things I like is making people happy, and so I want to bring you the things you like as well. Today’s ‘tocks post began when somebody requested it on my Facebook page, and so I encourage you to be vocal about what you want. I’ve set up an array of feedback mechanisms, and I monitor them all.

I hope everyone has a great week.
