The Adventures of Brock Harble, Secret Agent of Extreme Danger!

It was Friday night. I had just wrapped up the Tangiers affair and was returning to the headquarters of WHAP to be debriefed by head of operations Tiffany Vavoom, and time permitting report the details of the case as well. I was in the lobby when I saw it: an enemy TORT-S unit. The Terrestrial Ordinance Roving Tank is an unstoppable killing machine, and the S series was especially tough. Its invisible force shield deflected any attempt to disarm it. It had only one weakness: it could be distracted from its programmed course via interpretive dance. And thanks to my years with the Mitzi Schlorr Dancers, I was just the man for the job.

          Wonderful Hindquarters of Animal Pounciness?

Headquarters of hindquarters. I like it.

Interpretive dance is funny in so many ways! Such a brave kitten!

    • Duckie May 16, 2016 / 12:15 pm

I love the way kitten tail control is a work-in-progress. The fur rises, but the tail doesn’t, it just curls.

WHAP: Wiggle, Hop aaaaand Pounce? (Has to be a drawn out “and” to signify the pause between the hop and pounce)

Like Ed McMahon on the Johnny Carson Show – “…..and he-e-e-e-ere’s Johnny!”

NTMTOM has truly elevated the ridiculous to the sublime. Or perhaps evelated, as I first typed.

    • Deborah Gerish May 16, 2016 / 10:03 am

I concur. Great way to start a busy week–laughing helplessly in my office while I watch Brock dance.

  6. Juno May 16, 2016 / 10:02 am

I thought, “I don’t want to watch this unless there’s crabwalking.”

    I was not disappointed.

    • Duckie May 17, 2016 / 12:41 am

Is that where kitty gets all crazy spikey and dances sideways on tiptoe?

  7. Murray C. May 16, 2016 / 10:28 am

Well, you had me at “interpretive dance” before seeing the video and, boy, it was! This was, truly a LOL. Amazing what the music does, too.

Way to start the Monday, NTMTOM!!

    Interpretative dance

There is so much to love about this post. My cup runneth over.

    Thanks, NomTom!

PLUS …and time permitting report the details of the case

      It’s like Easter egg hunting!

  11. Duckie May 16, 2016 / 12:02 pm

Am I the only one who got the “debrief” joke, or is my mind just less pristine than I have believed?

    • Catwhisperer May 16, 2016 / 1:35 pm

You’re not alone! See my reply to Julie.

      • Duckie May 16, 2016 / 1:54 pm

Oh, thank you! You have saved my reputation with myself.

        • Murray C. May 16, 2016 / 2:26 pm

Oh, I was slow on that one. And Duckie, remember, a dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste!😜

          • allein May 16, 2016 / 2:29 pm

Good, now I don’t feel so bad about my inappropriate joke from yesterday 😉

        • Smartypants May 16, 2016 / 4:46 pm

Oh yes, I got it and giggled like an eighth-grader. I could actually envision Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan using that line (Daniel Craig, not so much).

  12. Sumo-Mermaid May 16, 2016 / 12:17 pm

TORT-S didn’t seem all that distracted by this interpretive dance. He appeared to be bound and determined to reach his destination. While I–on the other hand–could watch that dance all day.

    • Faye May 16, 2016 / 2:18 pm

TORT-S “Out of my way kid!!” Not a dance aficionado.

I don’t think the brave kitty actually made any contact but that dance of doom was epic.

      • 6rabbits May 18, 2016 / 6:05 am

That dance should have made something happen SOMEwhere! Were any super-cell thunderstorms reported in the area? Hurricanes? Swarms of locust? I could watch that kitteh all day!😘

WHAP = Wriggling Haunches from Animal Pounces

The little kitty was lucky the turtle didn’t feel like giving chase.

  14. Kar May 16, 2016 / 7:24 pm

You really missed your calling. The Pentagon so needs your talent in designating Acronyms.

  15. MTKees May 16, 2016 / 9:22 pm

I like that at the very start of the video there is also a toy tank on the floor, and it and the TORT-S could be twins, or at least cousins.

  16. JenDeyan May 16, 2016 / 9:41 pm

Really NTMTOM, you should write some kind of book that would happily pay money for.
