“(In the unforgiving prehistoric jungle, the proud but humble Crochetsaurus lumbers in search of food. In this hostile land, any forage might be his last, but he is unafraid. A sleeping Whapposaurus Rex picks up his scent, stirring an ancient bloodlust within the vile predator. But our hero plods confidently along, trusting his spiked shell to protect him…)”
Via Imgur.
Whapposaurus Rex is very pretty.
I hope Crochetsaurus doesn’t get caught in the claws and unravel..
Whapposaurus Rex is a perfectly descriptive name for the kitteh – predator who often attacks by paw-whapping.
Agreed!?
(Attenborough parentheses much appreciated.)
Turtle Dude gots strut.
Hehe, my first thought was “David Attenborough voice” – well done, Mike! 😀
Yay!
That turtle does look especially proud of his new accoutrement.
The Whapposaurus looks cross eyed with befuddlement.
Mike, just out of curiosity, what is your day job?
I do freelance website development, so my day job is a mixture of that and this blog.
Don’t let Mike fool you … He “knits” for a living .. this post is an ad for this services.
(Snickers and waits to be thrown in the Mod room)
The Mod Lounge is closed. Enjoy your Snickers. 🙂
No Mod Lounge?
Snickers. Did somebody bring candy?!
My son actually asked me to make a costume for his turtle, but he wants a bowser costume. It’s probably the easiest thing on my “To crochet” list.
You have a post a picture once this is done.
Who knew turtles? tortoises? could get up on their tippy-claws? Very cute.
btw, I first read the post title as “Prehistoric Yam,” which of course got me thinking about Yamoceritops, Yamopteryx, Yamilodon, Yamepithecus, Yammonites, a whole alternate vegetable history of life. Kind of scary, but probably kind of tasty, too.
Back to Monday morning….
I don’t do mornings.
I don’t do Mondays.
And I especially don’t do Monday mornings.
I wonder what a yamopteryx would taste like…
Yammonites sound like an Old Testament tribe.
I’m going back to bed.
I wish I could go back to bed. Stayed up until midnight watching the women’s gymnastics.
“Yammonites sound like an Old Testament tribe.”
😀
I’m with you, Allein, on the staying up too late to watch the Olympics. Except we’d gone out for dinner with friends, so I had recorded the first part of the evening broadcast, and then stayed up *past* midnight to watch them because I couldn’t stand to wait until today. Ms. Instant, Gratification, that’s me. I really wish I knew how those girls do the things they do. It’s just mind-boggling!
DB, you set me off. ???? ( that is, apparently, a yam)
Ooo I’ll try them all. Roasted. Toasted. Battered. Buttered. Fried.
Mike, kudos on recognizing crochet! Many folks would have assumed knitting on that spiffy outfit.
I love turtle costumes. I’ve spent *far* too much time on Etsy looking at the amazingly creative variety of them. There’s just something about dressing up a turtle that perfectly aligns with my warped sense of humor!
Turtle. Costumes. On. Etsy! Thank goodness I do not have a turtle.
That Whappasaurus Rex looks a lot like the Barfalodon that lives with me……
ROFLMAO!
?
Pfft…Barfalodon! 😀
Hahahaha… I live with a night crawling Hackhackasorous
I just noticed that this site is now formerly NTMTOM’s School of Ninja Ballet. 🙂
THAT I want to see!
Only if we get to see NTM dance.Oh, and on point! ?
You cannot see ninja ballet. The ninja ballet dancer leaps from tree to roof to stage without sound or footfall, lurking in the orchestra pit for his moment to strike. Although the Ninja Ballet Company may be currently not seen at the Eloise Schlorrman Performing Arts Center in Grand Spank, Ohio, in the greater sense the Ninja Ballet Company is everywhere… and it is nowhere.
Uh huh. You won’t get out of this so easily.
Time to hunt down the “I am Ninja” site again .. it moves without being seen you know.
This may or may not be a picture of Mike dancing Ninja Ballet..
I think this might just be the legendary Eloise Schlorrman (where DOES he get these NAMES…)
Allein, where’s the muffler?
