The Adventures of the Other Tintin

When a four-week-old red squirrel fell into Decan Anderson’s garden, Decan nursed the baby back to health, named him Tintin, and the two are now the best of friends.

They explore the forest together, Tintin leaping from the trees…

And after the day is through, Tintin gets a night snack before sleeping in his hammock at the top of the window.

You can see more Tintin on Instagram and read his heartwarming story at Tintinthesquirrel.com. Another fine submission from Faye.

I though I was through with Les aventures de Tintin when I turned 12 years old but I will gladly keep reading about this little Tintin’s adventures.

That’s very cool! And he has special permission from the Danish authorities to keep Tintin for his whole life. That kind of reminds me of a gentleman I knew in California who had a desert tortoise. He’d had it for over 40 years, from before the time when it was endangered and not permitted as a pet; but they’d grandfathered it in since he took such wonderful care of it. Last I knew, he was deciding which one of his grandchildren would take care of it. 🙂 Sounds like Decan and Tintin will have a long and happy time together! I had no idea squirrels could live so long. And the EAR TUFTS!

Mike, I just mistyped my name entering a comment and so it’s awaiting moderation, thinking I’m new here. Oopsie. 🙂 Can you fix it when you post it, por favor?

The flappage of said ear tufts is what got me – and his periscoping makes him look like a preacher giving a sermon – like Father Brown – he needs one of those broad-brimmed hats.

Reminds me of the first time I saw an Albert squirrel. I ran for my camera, and when my husband asked what I saw, I blurted, “Squabbit!!!”. (Our local squirrels have dinky ears, so it looked like a rabbit/squirrel hybrid to me.)

          Squabbit – love it!

On Decan’s website it has a link to an online “book” with Tintin’s story and pics of the little squirrel snuggling his kitty friends! Warning, though, it’s NSFW because you will be sniffling by the end of it.

Love those fluffy ear tufts, too!! If you go to the YouTube link, you can subscribe and also click on the little bell next to subscribe. You’ll automatically get any updates in your mail box. It’s kinda neat as it comes right to you without having to go searching for blogs or vlogs when they’re posted.
