Cartoon Technology to the Rescue!

“Now, you may feel a little sting,” said Dr. LeFarge as his henchmen closed and locked the door behind him. Frantically, Hector scanned the room for a ventilation grate, an electrical panel, anything he could use as an exit. With a menacing leer, the doctor inched closer, holding the hypodermic needle full of zombie serum. All hope seemed lost, when suddenly, Hector remembered his ACMEβ„’ portable hole!

However, leaping into the cupboard may not have been its most strategic use.

Mike you’re going to get tired of everyone saying genius! And that picture was taken at the perfect nanosecond.

Like my dad’s cat, Truman…not great at hiding at the vet. He’d disappear into the cupboard under the sink…and then meow loudly. Dad would open the cupboard door and lecture his cat on the concept of stealth. Every. Time.

Maybe he confused hiding and Hide & Seek?

    ACME! Portable Hole!

    Silly kitty. Almost made it.

My cat tries to disappear into my arm pit when I put her on the table at the vet. She sticks her head in there and stays perfectly still. She thinks if she can’t see the vet, the vet can’t see her. ?

Wait, that’s not how it works? Darn. My doctor must think I’m nuts…

Allein, are you telling us that you hide your head in your doctor’s armpit?
        ??

Um…no? I mean, no, of course not.

I used to take my long ago cat to the vet in her favorite hoodie. I would open it up so she could “disappear” into the sleeve. The first time the vet saw me open it for her after his exam he was skeptical, but then laughed.

      • allein ? August 22, 2017 / 9:42 am

I just like that your cat had a favorite hoodie.

I can’t imagine getting any kind of clothing on either of the cats.

        • HaHa August 22, 2017 / 12:07 pm

Just to clarify. The cat couldn’t even wear a collar because she would scratch at it till she did damage to herself. Luckily she was an indoor cat happy to chatter at squirrels and birds so didn’t need id. No cat clothes for her. The hoodie was mine, but I let her use it as her personal blanket/hideyhole during stressful situations or whenever she happened to commandeer it between washes. πŸ™‚

Mine does the same arm pit hiding thing…she even did it when we took her to her first vet appointment after we adopted her as a stray and she wasn’t too sure she could trust us. I guess she decided that between vet and me, I was the lesser of two evils.

He just needs to pull the hole in with him and put it on the other side. Of course, he’ll probably just end up in the next exam room…

If anyone needs me I’ll be recreationally chucking bags of holding at portable holes.

    • Catwhisperer August 22, 2017 / 10:03 am

      bags of holding???

      • michael August 22, 2017 / 10:12 am

Dungeon & Dragons Role-Playing Game reference.

      • Blue Footed Booby August 22, 2017 / 10:45 am

A bag of holding is a magical sack that opens into a another dimension to allow you to store huge amounts of loot without the bag getting appreciably heavier. Portable holes are peel-and-stick portals along similar lines.

To keep players from being weisenheimers with these items, pretty much any clever interaction between multiple holes or multiple bags or a bag and a hole results in a violent explosion.

The opportunities for entertainment are limited only by your imagination and the patience of the other players.

BFB: Brilliant! I just had a lafsnort problem,TYVM! “Violent explosion.”

SHARON H. – WE NEED BACKSTORY ON THIS!!!

    Your cat is the Fo-Shizzle.

    • Kar August 22, 2017 / 5:40 pm

I really want to know if the vet fell down laughing. And then blocked the hole for future uh, intake.

    • Not That Mike The Other Mike August 22, 2017 / 7:10 pm

(Responding in case Sharon H. doesn’t see this)

This probably isn’t Sharon’s cat. She sends me links to interesting pictures that she finds on other websites, and I credit her as the submitter, which is a tradition started on Cute Overload, where I came from.

Whenever a reader sends pictures of their own pets, I try to call special attention to that.

    • Murray C August 22, 2017 / 8:22 pm

      Fo-Shizzle? Enlighten me!

      • julie August 23, 2017 / 6:08 pm

Fo-Shizzle is a reference to Snoop Dogg, which has nothing to do really with cats or dogs, but I just like to drop a Fo-Shizzle every now and then.

This was a triumph. Making a note here; huge success. . . .
Sorry – no idea where that ear worm came from πŸ™‚
