Mysterious AND beguiling! What a gorgeous kitty! ?

I’m off to the Whidbey Island Garden Tour today, so everyone have a great weekend! ???????☘️

    • AJ June 16, 2018 / 9:19 am

Ooh a garden tour. Sounds like a grand time! Have fun.

    • Maia June 16, 2018 / 11:36 am

I didn’t know that was a Thing. Must look into it, as I live in the area! Have a wonderful time!

      • Jan B. June 16, 2018 / 12:25 pm

Check out wigt.org — it’s usually the third Saturday in June. You can order the tickets online; it’s good to order them at least a month in advance. I think they go on sale I. February. The ticket includes a map and a description of each garden which you can see in any order you chose. Great fun and lots of really beautiful properties!

Oh, I hope you had fun!

I was at an Old Time Music Festival yesterday, did a lot of singing. The site is a beautiful old, beautifully kept family farm. We had a great day. I hope everyone else is enjoying their week end – Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!

      PS Beautiful kitty, very beguiling.

voice. A about to give up on in-line order with CVS for Depends -type order.
Not working.Try again later after foray into kitchen. to evaluate hair washing process. Been a while since this happened. It WILL happen. Before moths hatch, I swear.

What a beauty! Penny should be the standard by which all Siamese are measured. Those eyes, that coloring! If she’d let me, I would love to snorgle her.

As you know, I’ve been dog sitting for a few weeks and let’s just say after this I am Team Cat all the way. I forgot how much work is involved with dogs, especially dogs with some health issues.

Big plan for the weekend is to pack for next week’s trip to CO for our family reunion and my mom’s memorial service/ash scattering. Got 99% of everything ready to throw in the suitcase, just need to do some laundry for the last bit of of clothes I want to take with me. Other than not much else, have to pick up my quilt purchase from last weekend, maybe go to the new Australia exhibit at the zoo and get the place ready for the dog/house sitter.

    Happy weekend everyone!!

Ooooh, might you see a wombat?

  3. N. Fritz June 16, 2018 / 10:05 am

The senior class is no longer my problem! Got all of them through English… 7 of 23 still have other exams/written work outstanding. Now I have to calculate grades for the other five classes. Next week at this time I’ll be on my way to Galway!!!

    • Faye June 16, 2018 / 10:07 am

      Good job!

    • Boo'sMom June 16, 2018 / 10:12 am

Ah, summer break—the only time a teacher truly gets all work caught up and can relax.

      Enjoy.

    • Maia June 16, 2018 / 11:33 am

I know what a wonderful feeling that is! Good luck with your other classes, and then relax and recharge! Congrats on a job well done!

    • Murray C. June 17, 2018 / 12:08 pm

Fabulous, N. Fritz – good on ya! Have a wonderful time on vacation. We all know you’ve earned it.

  4. Alice Shortcake June 16, 2018 / 10:08 am

*Is mesmerized by Penny’s blue eyes*

Yes, I will give you treats…Yes, I will administer snorgles if required…Yes, I – PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER!

There’s not much to report at the Shortcakery, other than that I’ve discovered a nice long walk near my home at Clifton Ings, York’s flood defences – lots of meadows, mature trees and wildlife. It’s so rural I couldn’t believe how close it was to a main road and the railway line! And I’ve been binge-watching the hilarious “A Very English Scandal”, featuring Hugh Grant’s remarkable performance as the urbanely murderous Jeremy Thorpe. I can remember the affair very vividly but the whole thing was even more bizarre than it seemed at the time, which is saying something…

Also, from the final and as yet untitled compilation of extracts from “The Era”: ladies, we all know how annoying it is when our significant other runs off to fight for a political cause, leaving us holding the baby and without a penny to our names. Am I right? (Cries of “You can say that again, Alice!”)

“PIANIST. – ENGAGEMENT WANTED by a Young Married Lady, English; a Fine Pianist, of the Royal Academy, whose Husband, a Pole by birth, has deserted her and infant to join in the Polish cause, leaving her entirely without means. He left home on April 28th, saying that he would return to dinner, but, instead of returning, sailed for Poland, leaving me entirely unprovided for. Wishes for an Engagement in some Entertainment or Exhibition. Address, ELIZABETH WISIGER WALEWSKI, 74, Charlotte Street, Fitzroy Square.
    31st May 1865”

The fact that she expected him home for dinner somehow makes his conduct even more reprehensible!

    • debg June 16, 2018 / 11:01 am

Boys can be so stupid sometimes. I share your indignation at this woman’s plight.

  5. Faye June 16, 2018 / 10:14 am

Was just outdoors with Millie. Shady backyard was too buggy. Sunny front porch steps too hot. Back inside. Big exciting day: dishes, cooking, folding.

Finishing my 39th drawing this weekend. Composing 40th in my head. Completed another two painting sessions. More comfortable in the studio and happy with my progress. Next week I can attend three times. First painting may be complete. If so will share.

    Wishing everyone a good weekend.

  6. debg June 16, 2018 / 11:08 am

Happy Saturday, all, and chin scritchies to the beautiful Penny. She’s a knockout.

It’s cooled down from last weekend’s 97-degree heat (at least it’s a dry heat) so I’m tackling some small home repairs. While everything is still super-complicated, I’ve had an offer on the house for the price I want. Waiting and seeing how the other issues turn out. By the 4th of July, things should be settled one way or another. Pro tip: it’s very complicated to move when you’ve got 7 cats.

Speaking of which, bratty Scorpius is still determined to beat up on his siblings. Somebody (probably him) tore Beano’s ear, and it looks painful. She’s being very stoic, as always, but wants her mommy. Imma go cuddle her now to see if that helps.

    Take care, all!

After last weekend BeerFest where I over did it a little I’ve been taking it easy this week.

I did go to the movie with friend on Tuesday, we saw Deadpool 2 and I haven’t laughed so much in a long time! I have to say that it is not a movie for you if you are easily offended by corse language and/or juvenile “boy” humour or graphic if cartoony violence.

Staying with the theme of scatological humour, I saw this hilarious commercial this week and couldn’t believe what I was seeing on network television. LOL!!!

    • debg June 16, 2018 / 12:53 pm

I’m dying here. What an adorable poop commercial (words I never thought I’d type).

    • Faye June 16, 2018 / 4:34 pm

      Cute poop!

    • N. Fritz June 17, 2018 / 5:51 am

I’m going to say I’m scandalized. Honestly, someone had to pitch this idea to the company, they had to approve it (?!) then a song had to be composed, a performer engaged (what a thing to put on your CV!), graphics invented, pets trained (?), footage filmed and edited. And really?? That’s the best they could come up with? Is that what people look for in a pet food? The pleasure of scooping up a nice tidy pile?

  8. allein ? June 16, 2018 / 11:37 am

Happy Caturday! I’m on vacation this coming week. I plan to do some major cleaning, and buy a new car. No tiny ducky sightings yesterday, but I didn’t go to that part of the park, so. I did see a pair o’ ducks by the lake…one white and one black/gray.

Gotta figure out what we’re doing tomorrow for Father’s Day. All I know is my dad said he doesn’t want to go out for dinner. Was emailing with my brother earlier in the week, we didn’t decide anything and I haven’t heard from him since. Happens every time.

Fun fact I learned yesterday: Henry Strozier, who plays the older farmer in the Ocean Spray cranberry juice commercials, is also the narrator of Too Cute! on Animal Planet.

    Saturday funny:

    • murkle46 June 16, 2018 / 5:04 pm

      He looks relaxed.

      • allein ? June 16, 2018 / 6:29 pm

Looks like he’s stretching out his paws.

        • Smartypants June 17, 2018 / 12:20 pm

          Yup, making himself comfy.

  9. Maia June 16, 2018 / 11:53 am

Hello all! I have missed being here! It’s so good to be back.

The move to my new apartment is complete, but there has been a hitch with the cat.

She hates the new place (she’s 15 and has only ever known the house that my Ex is keeping), so we are transitioning her gradually. Fortunately Ex and I are staying on good terms, and I am a half-mile from the old house, so we can do a lot of short day-visits here, and she can then go “home” to her beloved garage bed at night.

She’s gone from pacing and howling and looking for the exits to hiding under the bed with small forays out to be petted. It’s progress. I’ve got blankets with her scent, and all the bedding with my scent, and purchased the “calming hormone” sprays and plug-in diffusers.

I’m not sure, but the hormones may be helping ME. I’m doing a lot less pacing and howling and looking for the exits, too. 😉

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, those celebrating Father’s day, those who are fathers, and a special thought to those who have lost their fathers- may you know peace and be warmed by loving memories.

And Penny is, as always, gorgeous. Love the blue eyes against the dark markings.

    • dubravkamcvmd June 16, 2018 / 2:13 pm

What a deeply stressful time. Maybe your cat is acting out for you. Soothe her – soothe yourself?

  10. Duckie ? June 16, 2018 / 12:15 pm

    Happy Caturday, all.
This week seems to have been a really hard week, but I can’t put my finger in anything definite. Although having a sinus infection might be all that’s required.
BIL sleeping most of the time. His brothers (including hubby) and dad NOT doing well. I’m having nightmares that this year may end with the loss of more than one.
I’ve discovered that squirrels can count! A very local one inhabits a tree in our backyard, and almost every day I illegally give her two almonds, in shell. Yesterday I only dropped one, and the scandalized look she gave me was priceless. So I dropped the other one, and a grape to make up for the trick. I’m almost sure she’ll forgive me. Maybe I’ll drop a date. The expression of awe on her face when she gets one is heartbreaking.
This coming week is supposed to heat up. I’m not a fan of heat, so I expect to spend the days limply wrapped around a fan.
    Have a great week, everyone.

  11. Patty June 16, 2018 / 12:35 pm

I’ve got no plans this weekend. The husband will likely spend tomorrow with his kids. It’s triple digit temperatures here, with high humidity, so I am planning to stay inside as much as possible.
I made another name doily, this time for my youngest daughter’s (Keysa) birthday. It has some of her favorite things in it. I was planning to add the cat graph to it, but when I was making the name graph I noticed the Y looked just like the bottom of the cat graph, so I used that instead of a y.

    • allein ? June 16, 2018 / 1:09 pm

      Cute!

    • Faye June 16, 2018 / 4:39 pm

      Beautiful!

    • Smartypants June 17, 2018 / 12:21 pm

      Looks really nice!

  12. fkaWaldenPond June 16, 2018 / 1:09 pm

Hey its good to see a couple of you back, it’s been awhile! 🙂 Speaking of not getting an update in awhile, Mike, how is Ani and Shorty these days?

    Hello to everyone else!

    • dubravkamcvmd June 16, 2018 / 2:16 pm

      Yes, I’ve been wondering too.

    • murkle46 June 16, 2018 / 6:26 pm

      Dog rescuing her puppies.

    • dubravkamcvmd June 16, 2018 / 8:54 pm

      That’s so lovely.

    • Murray C. June 17, 2018 / 12:17 pm

Oh, my heavens, that is so sweet.

I’ve just read about everyone’s goings on but my head is too full to take it all in – I can just wish you all the best. Between reading about all the political goings on and trying to keep up with people’s stories – those of my immediate circle as well as all of you guys – I get overwhelmed! The kids getting separated from their parents is especially heart-breaking. I think I’ll go play in the dirt (my container plants need some attention)
