Love the dogs at the theatre. At the Austin shelter there’s a kitten named Bob Ross! That made me laugh out loud.
Sorry to nuff, but I find “Artist Pokes Fun at Lazy Generation” upsetting. Aren’t we already drowning in negativity and mockery—and far, far worse—based on sweeping generalizations about people, without spreading that attitude on Cutetropolis, too?

I started a comment on the giraffe because he made me laugh, but I erased it because I kind of agree with you. Plenty of lazy and non-lazy folks in every generation.
These are good points to bring up, and I’ll try to remember them for the future. I also noticed that some of the animals weren’t even using technology, contrary to the theme of the gallery.

“… weren’t even using technology …” Now *that’s* funny!
Thanks for understanding, Mike. This is still the Nicest Place on teh Interwebz.

there is a lot of truth there though… I may use the images in my classes to get them talking about certain issues!

I’ll admit some of those animal remind me of me sometimes…I am solidly in Generation X. The lazy slacker generation of my day. The “kids these days” lament goes back millennia.

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that “kids these days” goes back to the generation that first walked on two legs. 😉

“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”
People in general underestimate how bad they are at objective observation. Once they’re adults, they compare real kids to wildly inaccurate memories of how they themselves behaved when they were young. The least self aware about this process are naturally the most vocal.

I used to babysit for a family when I was home for college breaks and the younger girl was kind of stubborn sometimes and I would get mightily frustrated with her. I was certainly never like that when I was four! I’m sure my parents would disagree (and laugh, and laugh…).
(Though I don’t think I was like that with babysitters; then again, my mother didn’t work full time until we were older, so we mostly only had babysitters on the occasional weekend evening or whatever, not every day after school/day camp like I was doing with those kids. A babysitter for us was more of a “treat” type situation since bedtime/TV/snack rules were somewhat relaxed those nights, so we didn’t have much reason to act up. When I was the babysitter it was just part of the regular routine for them so I was more authority figure than “fun high school/college kid (usually neighbors or one of my friends’ older siblings) who comes to play with us when mom and dad go out.”)
Not to mention that the last pre-video game generation is the reason my generation will, on average, never, ever attain the level of income afforded to them at the same age. They drove the cost of education through the roof, crashed the economy right before we entered the work force, and devastated the environment. My generation–along with X, Z, and the newest one–gets to reap the whirlwind.
Though goodness knows how that generational divide maps to China.
Them and the silents. There’s good folks in all generations, of course, but those haven’t been the people in charge.

I’m of the generation that sits on that division, and the wrong side.We took hard hits, and there is no popular name for us or any real notice. We had federal student loans program suspended just as we graduated. Thanks Reagan.

I love the clever/weird/funny cat names, but especially Chicken Noodle and Pooper Scooper. I’ve given every dog I’ve had as an adult the nickname of Pooper Scooper so it’s near and dear to my heart. 😊

One of Ricky’s nicknames was Super Pooper. Not quite the same. 🙃

That “robot” is giving someone some serious stink-eye there–I’d be careful about stepping into my shoes if I were that person!

I love the funny cat names! Although Epinephrine, I think, sounds like a female name, right? Because you could call her Phriney – like Phryne Fisher?
And poor Hamburglar! What an insult to have that silly thing slipped on one’s head. (can’t stop giggling though…)
Apparently, you need to name your next three pets Homunculus.

Even Canadian dogs are polite!! It wouldn’t belong here, but Bored Panda had a lovely set of pictures of Canadians being Canadian. The pure niceness had me misty. When I wasn’t laughing!
Someone sent that a few photos from that article, and they’ll turn up here whenever I can get an idea for them, but in the meantime, the entire set of pictures is great:
I love that song, and Chris Hadfield. If you go to his YouTube channel, most of it is his son Evan’s series called Rare Earth, which I highly recommend. (Chris is excutive producer. If you watch, always read the credits at the end.)

I love bagcat’s look of resigned disgust.
I presume you’re referring to the All-Powerful Boomer Generation of which I am a part?
