Yeah, I got the idea from that one night you guys splurged on lobster and you put on those little bibs with the pictures of lobster on them. Anyway, I have my steak bib on now, so if you want to set a nice porterhouse down here on the counter, I’ll just dig in.

Poor Bibi can’t even contemplate steak. She had *nine* teeth removed today, a few teeth rasped down, and some broken teeth sealed. She’s on canned food for two weeks, and tonight I have to feed her in tiny stages and watch out for vomiting. AND I have to give her some pain meds at 8 PM (I set an alarm)—one every 12 hours for two days, one every 12 hours a day till finished.
It doesn’t help that she was comprehensively sick to her stomach last night. I woke up to the joys of cleaning up the detritus from both ends. I have some ideas about what set that off, but I’ll never know for sure. Normally I’d say she has a cast-iron stomach.
She’s zonked out at the moment. No doubt from all the “good stuff” they gave her at the vet’s.
And I am suffering the Guilt of the Damned Bad Dog Mom’s, even though apparently another dog had thirty (30!) teeth pulled today at the same practice.
You’d think I’d be used to it. Ricky was down to just his canines long before he shuffled off this mortal coil (“I still got four teeth; don’ *make* me use them!”). But I had fondly imagined that Bibi would have a healthier mouth.
Oh my goodness poor baby! Hopefully she makes a quick recovery so mom doesn’t feel so bad!
So sorry about Bibi. And you are not a Bad Dog Mom. It’s tough to brush teeth on a pet. I’ve been trying to do that for the cats, and they have been, well, unenthusiastic.

Thanks! So far she’s keeping spoonfuls of food down and has taken her meds. She’s sleeping a lot, which is just as well—because when she’s awake, she’s clearly stoned out of her gourd. My poor little gummy pup …
