This is typical of interactions at Casa Birdcage. I spend a lot of time animating stuffies. Last night I played peek-a-boo for 90 minutes, got bit at one stage and my boid then said, “Ouch!” like he was the one who was harmed. Then he said, “Bad bird!” and laughed maniacally for several minutes.
Hilarious! Thanks for sharing, Birdcage!
Birds are smarter than a lot of people think! And they know how to torment their humans just as well as their furred cousins, don’t they?
I had a Japanese friend who taught her parrot to sing “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” in Japanese. Must have taken hours!
Talking dinosaurs. Love Watcha Doing? That always kills me ded. Kiss? ?
I think I could easily fall in love with a boid. So much personality in such small bodies… and, I’m guessing, never a dull moment. I. Am. Thoroughly. Entranced! <3
I worked at a zoo for a while, and they had a green eclectus named “Kane” (Kah-Nay; means “man” in Hawaiian), who was just a wee bit naughty. He’d say “Kahhne! Kaahne Boy!” in his sweetest tone to get you to pet him. Then he’d bite the bejaysus out of you and laugh (yes, maniacally). He also had an eye for the ladies, and would whistle and say inappropriate things when they walked by, but ONLY if one of the staff was standing right by him! I’d get the DIRTIEST looks from women who thought I’d just wolf-called at them! I’d say “It wasn’t ME!” and just get major stink-eye. Glad that parrot didn’t get me fired.
BTW, Deb, I would LOVE the hear “Rudolph” in Japanese, sung by a parrot! I hope your friend can post a video!
Oh, I know, I know Mr. Max! But it was years ago before posting videos became popular, so I don’t think she made a video. But also she told me the bird would terrorize her cats! They can be little troublemakers.
I Tawt I Taw Two Tweety birds.
I did!!
I did Taw Two Tweety Birds!
What a funny boy! Such a sweet little talker, too. Though the nip does remind me just a bit of my own IRN hen, who sometimes conveys her meaning through not-so-positive enforcement. But at least Bowie says “sorry”!
“Whatcha doin?” So cute!
