Hey all, it’s Turkey Day tomorrow, so share what it is you’re thankful for (but nothing too personal). As for me, I’m thankful for the Internet, WordPress, my years of fun writing for Cute Overload, and needless to say the outpouring of support over the past week from all of you reading this. Have a cupcake.

Hmmm..what is too personal? My shoe size! π I’m thankful every day for my health, happiness and home. Although, I’m not too thankful for my hammer toe. Hopefully, that wasn’t too personal! π
Happy Thanksgiving to all (including all furry and non furry animals)

I’m thankful for my good health and that of my family, being married to my best friend, our wackadoody cat, my job (however boring it may be, it sure does pay the bills!), and… tacos! Always tacos.
I’m thankful for pasta!!!
I’m thankful for places, like this, on the interwebs that make me laugh and that bring people together in a positive way. I’m thankful to still have my family despite our various health challenges over the past few years. I’m thankful for the roof over my head, a good job with benefits, food on my table, education, my sanity, my friends. And, of course, having the love of a good pet makes my world go ’round: my boid livens up the household every day, in unexpected ways.
Birdcage, you said it all!
I’m thankful for my hubby, who’s been taking care of me far more than I ever expected him to after my back fell apart a few years back; knitting, which keeps me sane; my wonderful daughter, who lives somewhere cold enough for me to knit for her; my mom, who’s 95 and still hanging in there; our nice quiet neighborhood, which lets me work at home without constant annoying disturbances; working at home, which lets me goof off online any time I want to (or have time to, which unfortunately aren’t always the same thing); and of course, all you wonderful folks, especially Mike, who are building a community here in this lovely lounge that Mike has created for us as well as providing us with the best scroll-down laughs on the internet! I’m also thankful-in-advance for the new furry family member we haven’t met yet who we’re going to be adopting as soon as we get enough stuff unpacked and sorted out not to hopelessly confuse said furry family member. Or maybe furry family members plural. We haven’t decided. It really depends on who tells us they need to come home with us!
There are lots of CO people here like me who still love the site, but are thankful for NTMTOM for seeing us through the big empty space that was left when CO temporarily left us. As Birdcage says, this is a place that brings people together in a positive way when there is so much sadness and worry in the world. We love you NTMTOM!
What Mikeyfur said! Thanks for being you, NTMTOM!
Thank you, BB/VA, and welcome to the site! Enjoy yourself!
I am thankful (to whom it may concern) for
pretty good health, a lovable, if sometimes
exasperating partner who lets me show him
the great stuff that NTMTOM brings to us,
food in the kitchen, a soft warm bed in a
nice snug house in a nice snug town,
solvency, and lots of books on the
shelves I haven’t gotten to yet. And
all of you who brighten these grim
days. Thanks, NTMTOM for this blog.
In addition to all the other stuff, I’m thankful that this long weekend I get to take care of my brother’s dog Sam, who can be quite the wiggle-worm until he settles down as shown here.
That face! LOL!
“I will settle here ’till my wiggleage needs for worm again. Then, hoo boy, will I wigglewormage.” Hmpf snort.
HAHA – that’s the best!
Head wrinkles!! Have fun with Sam.
I’m thankful for kids who are old enough to host and cook the dinner. All I have to do is bring some pies, and myself. They won’t even let me help with the dishes. Truly, I am thankful for my kids, who turned out pretty darn good considering I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. Oh, and the grandkids! Best thing ever!
It’s not Thanksgiving in Canada but I’m still thankful for :
– my 40 year relationship with my better half (he really is)
– a good job with great benefits (that I can retire from next year!)
– my 5 fur babies (even if they drive me crazy sometimes)
– my friends, who are a crazy bunch of nerds (and always there when you need them)
And a lot more, including this site and all the peeps here.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I’m glad that we now have a site with more NTMTOM than we had before and a lovely community. I euthanized my 22-year-old kitten Minkette at the end of September so this is helpful!
Sorry for ou lost.
Minkette, what a sweet name!
She was a very sweet girl. On her last morning I patted my lap for her to come for her massage. She managed to stand up on her pillow but all she could do was wobble. I put her on my lap and gave her her massage. She purred. You want to have just one conversation with them at the end, and we had one.
My sincere condolences.
This made me cry.
You are fortunate to have had
her for so long.
Brought tears to my eyes. Sorry for your loss. You sound like the best possible pet-parent.
Oh geez. Now I’m tearing up too.
So thankful that you had that one conversation. (Un)fortunately I’ve had those too. You don’t forget those, they’re precious.
My deepest condolonces. I had to let my soul-baby of 15 years cross the Rainbow Bridge this April and I still miss her so much. You did an awesome job to give Minkette so many great years.
Thank you everyone. I know you all understand and that’s part of what makes this site good to have. Let’s all go forth and be Happy Thanksgiving ! today!
Sending you many hugs and warm thoughts. <3
I’m thankful for this great website, a wonderful husband who is my best friend, children who are turning out to be really lovely adults, a safe home, food on the table, a job I love, health, good friends, the beautiful wooded trails behind our home, 5 sweet old doggehs, music, sunlight, snow, Disney World, chocolate, holidays, Colbert, Friends reruns, Downton Abbey, Pandora, Crosby/Stills/Nash&Young, Mozart and Beethoven and Bach, Handel’s Messiah, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Carpenters, C.S. Lewis, Shakespeare, E.M. Forster, See’s Candy, NYC, kayaking on the Potomack, being born in an era where I can take daily showers, ocean, mountains, living in a country where I feel safe and free, our beautiful earth…it’s a beautiful life?????
And The Beatles!
Yes, clean running water, daily showers and indoor plumbing are blessings too many take for granted.
I am profoundly thankful for my wonderful home in a charming neighborhood, all the people in my life who have been supportive and encouraging and the life purpose I have been given to help people heal their lives. And I am truly grateful for this new little community here that makes people laugh, which is so very important.
Yay, bring on the warm fuzzies! I’m thankful for: getting to live in the coziest apartment ever, which happens to be in the most beautiful state ever (Montana) with a cat who drools with happiness when I come home for work; for having a fabulous immediate family and equally fabulous very large extended family; for all the books on my shelves that I still get to have the privilege of reading for the first time (at some point); and for being fortunate enough to be able to stay warm, sheltered, clothed, fed, and safe in my own country. P.S. Oh and also as a vegetarian, I’m thankful for all the extra pie and side dishes I get to have tomorrow while everyone else is passed out from turkey. Heh. π
I am thankful for many things, but right now I’m grateful for a 4-day weekend and a bunny to snorgle!
I am thankful for all of the beings who rescue me each and every day: my cat, my dog, my two best girlfriends, their three children, NTMTOM and all who comment here, the lost friends I located on FB and last but not least my therapist who is teaching me to heal my mind heart and soul. Everything else is material and can be replaced or gone without.
*healing hugs*
Thank you. It’s all good!
I am thankful for a career that allows me to work mostly out of my home office and travel throughout our wonderful country the rest of the time working with a talented team of employees. I am grateful for a husband who loves animals & furbabies as much as I do. Our 6 kitties are our version of kids who constantly make us laugh, smile and shake our heads at their antics. We have our health, family, friends and some good football to watch tomorrow. Go Packers!
I’m grateful for kitty pics! We can has more sweet kitties?
I’m grateful for the proliferation of sweet cuteness, and how sites like this allow me to show all my sweethearts how fuzzy I feel about them.
I am grateful for many things , including teh interwebs, where I can find other peeps that appreciate the storytelling we all find here.
I am grateful for my wonderful husband, a good job, a home I love and my adorable fur babies. I am most grateful to NTMTOM for jumping into the breach and forming this little place of magic for us when it looked as though the world was going to get a little darker.
I’m grateful for NTMTOM and mah Iggles. I will always support NTMTOM because I want NTMTOM to the best NTMTOM that he can be!
I am thankful for my three sweet kittehs even when I step barefooted in their barf.
I am thankful to NTMTM for starting this site so we all still have a safe place to go.
I am thankful the Patriots won the Superbowl. π
I am thankful for my nephews.
I am thankful for pee pads that keep my floors somewhat dry. The garbage man who every week takes away a bag of the foulest smelling garbage (I fear that the bag will break and he will be found unconscious at the end of my drive). Paper towels, the washing machine, and the fact that Mr. Peppersteen has lived another year.
Very practical and down to earth gratitude. Yes, pee pads, especially in winter. ?
I’m thankful for alot of things but I’m particularly thankful that now I don’t have to hope if an entry is from NTMTOM. They all are!!!
