Move on. Nothing to see here, guys. Just another cat doing chin-ups. 😀
HAH! I didn’t even see the similarity to the last post until you pointed it out!
Oh, good eye! I didn’t catch it either 😀
Haha …”nine hundred and ninety-nine…one thousand!”
Big. Fat. Belly. Marmi. In. The. Sun. Glowing. Going. Plop. Best.
But I didn’t see anything.
This big red cat reminds me of an experience my Mom, Dad and I shared when I was in my late teens.
We would drive from Long Island,NY to my Grandparents’ house in Stamford, Connecticut. It took 1.5 hours each way. And out of love we went almost every weekend.
We would all be tired on the return trip. Just before it was time to make the next to last turn to our house we would pass a gray corner house. And lo and behold there was always a really BIG red cat sitting out front.
He would look like a glowing orange king out surveying his kingdom in the twilight. The three of us were dedicated cat people. So the car was always slowed so we look at him. He was huge!
Finally, on one return trip my father pulled the car closer to the curb than usual and we rolled down the car windows. We called out to him thinking he might deign to come over to us. Surely he was familiar with us by now.
We called, “Hi big boy”, and made cat calling noises. Not a muscle moved in his big orange body. We called again. Nothing. Then on the third try his mouth opened and out came the tinyest meep of a meow.
We cracked up. We had learned his secret: giant orange cat-King with a teeny tiny meow.
We always paid him his due over the years and kept his secret until we realized he had crossed into a bigger realm.
Awww. I love that idea that he responded to diplomatic overtures.
🙂
Hahahah meep!
“I meant to do that.” Lol! I’m a total klutz, so whenever I trip, if anyone was looking I take a bow and say “Ta da!!” Something I learned from Calvin and Hobbes. 😀
I love this! If I saw that (your response, not the lead up) I would be smiling for the rest of the day.
I’m pretty sure footed, but having 3 teens, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to say, “Hey Grace, you ok?” Out of pure love of course. 😉
It reminds me of the video where the dog’s asleep and runs into a wall, only with less confusion and more dignity.
