“Tag — you’re it…. I said, YOU’RE IT! You’re supposed to chase me now. C’MON, CHASE ME ALREADY! Why aren’t you chasing me? Don’t you know what ‘it’ means? Sheesh. You humans have to be taught EVERYTHING.”

      Exactly!

      • Haha February 16, 2016 / 6:59 am

He also has no patience for fetch. He will bring it back two times if you are lucky. After that, you get the look that says, “You are so dim, if you really don’t want it, I will stop getting it for you. Now go get it and put it away.”

Smart doggie. Does he carry big sticks?

          • Haha February 16, 2016 / 2:08 pm

Nope, no need, he likes to bark loudly.

Gorgeous and delightful pup! Is he doberman/labrador, with perhaps a dash of collie or shepherd in there?

    • Haha February 16, 2016 / 7:12 am

The shelter told us Lab/Shepard/Husky, but I bet they were just guessing. People we meet have said they see those and Rottweiler, Doberman and several other amusing ideas. He “talks” like a Husky. I see a lot of Shepard in his actions. He drops his head to get what he is focused on in his line of sight. He runs back and forth trying to keep us together if we are on a hike and get a little separated. He will stop and not let Gramma go any farther if she gets to far ahead of Grampy when they take him on a walk. I don’t see the thickness and substantial body of a Rottie, but I do see his protection of me and our human kids. I see the coloring of a Doby, but no eyebrow dots.
We probably won’t get a test to see what he actually is. We have too much fun imagining whatever we want. 🙂

        “Fun Pack” variety!

        • Haha February 16, 2016 / 8:04 am

Ha! That’s awesome! I’ve heard Heinz 57, and American breed. Fun Pack is a new one and I love it!

          • Faye February 16, 2016 / 1:27 pm

Whatever combo there is smart in every bit! He’s herding, guiding and guarding. Great story all around.

      • Mr. Max February 17, 2016 / 12:17 am

I had what was supposedly the best and most accurate DNA test done on a dog who was boxer/pit/shar-pei. The test came back mostly Australian cattle dog, with a dash of boxer. What a JOKE! I’ve had friends with similarly entertaining results. Whatever Joey’s mix, he looks and sounds like a great dog, and his mixed heritage will probably ensure a long and healthy life!
