Shout-out to Carol (again!) for her generous donation. Thank you! I also got this nice note from another recent subscriber:
I also wanted to express my profound gratitude that you created your site. Cute Overload was my homepage for almost ten years, and your writing on the site was easily my favorite – I have legacy beverage stains on various monitor screens because of you. When Cute Overload announced that they were shutting down, I burst into tears and was left to wander the electronic aether in misery, abjectly cute-deprived.
Please post more. There are legions counting on you.
Although I’m very touched by this message, I posted it mainly to announce that “Legacy Beverage Stains” is now the name of my all-tuba death metal band.
Hmm..Legacy Beverage Stains might have some stiff competition from this year’s metal Grammy winner Ghost! Their lead singer will glare ferociously into the camera with his skeleton makeup and mismatched contact lenses and start playing…a kazoo. Freaking hilarious.
They don’t have a tuba but they do have trumpet;
Also suggest Apocalyptica and John William’s old band, Sky. Only record that I can recall that had tube-only prog songs.

Thanks Mike. what’s the trick? tried the ’embedded’ code but it didn’t take.
The commenting system seems to prefer that the YouTube link be the last line of the comment. I got the same results you did until I moved the URL to the last line.
Came to say that I went to see an all tuba band at Jazz Fest in NOLA and would absolutely go see an all-tuba death metal band.
This video though. Wow. So many thoughts. I think my favorite is the light up sombreros. The trumpet player is decent. (Happy nod)
I so want to hear their cd at a Mexican restaurant. Imagine people bringing a nacho to their mouth, stopping, going, wait I know that song. Is that Alice in Chains?
Then again, I listen to Rodrigo y Gabriela:
What a gas. Thanks for the heads up.
In a free concert in the park in NOLA, I once heard a band comprised of tuba, accordion, and washboard perform a truly outstanding version of Stairway to Heaven. Truly, anything is possible with a tuba!
Your theme song would have to be “Tubas in the Moonlight” by the Bonzo Dog Dooda Band.
NTMTOM – are they happy enough to incubate a sprinkler? ๐
Yes a sprinkler of margaritas!
That would get me to roll over.
