This so reminds me of when my husband moved in with me and my German shepherd mix, Rikki, bringing his cat Sunny. Sunny was a big orange marmie tom who took nothin’ off nobody and hated dogs because he had been chased too often. When Sunny had to spend two weeks locked in the new apartment to figure out where home was, he hissed, Rikki cowered and I nearly lost my mind. By the time it was over and Sunny was allowed out, he flat owned that dog. Whenever he came in after that, Sunny always went first to Rikki to be properly adored.

A lot of times, when they really don’t want to be bothered, they just put up with the hugging because they really love the individual, human or not…… It’s happened to me….. when they have enough, they just walk away or give a kitty-type warning….;
