I just upgraded some software on the site, and apparently the lower-case letter “i” is disappearing from comments. I swear this is not a practical joke, and if you are currently having this problem, please comment below. Apparently, the capital letter “I” is still safe to use.
Update: This is now fixed for sure. Someone else reported this problem and identified how to patchย it. I assume the offending software will be updated again shortly to correct the issue permanently.
It was definitely happening to me. I won’t know until I post this whether it still is, of course. This is an interesting development, considering the A key on my keyboard broke the other night, so until I found a way to tape it on so I could use it temporarily till my new keyboard arrived, I would have had both A-less and I-less posts! ๐
ETA: Yup, the Is are still missing. Oopsie!
ETA2: Interesting — they appear in the comment after I edit it, but not when I originally posted it!
That’s because I was applying a fix just as you were editing your comment. All better now!
You know what they say – “There’s no ‘I’ in ‘team'”…or something! ๐
Sorry. Couldn’t resist.
Thanks…never saw it that way…had a good laugh at that.
There is no I in team but there is an m and an e. ?
I am glad this is fixed. Otherwise how could I say ni. Ni!
I only have i’s for you ?
Noooo. I had a beer and am to late to play wiiiiiiith the fun. ๐
Afraid I was also late and missed out. Been a long day. Guess we can all type igloo, iguana, incognito, inconsequential, incandescent, idiosyncratic….
And icthyosaurus and itchy and irregular and irreverent and irresistible and……
So that’s what happened! I thought I was drunk.
Again.
Mike, you shouldn’t need to be upgrading software on the site unless you really want/like to. Try looking at a cheap hosted service like Squarespace, it can be less hassle
Thanks for the suggestion. I’m a web developer specializing in WordPress, so it’s not a hassle for me.
