Once again I awaken from my slumber to transform your sterile winter world into a paradise of color and delight, to roll out my verdant carpet across the meadows, to bless you with a blanket of beauteous blooms! But first, I need to go bless a fire hydrant, if you take my meaning…
Via Imgur.
Meanwhile, in New Jersey, it’s 37 degrees and they’re predicting 2-4 inches of snow tonight (which is better than the 8 inches they were suggesting several days ago).
I had a senior cat (Sadie – see you at the bridge) who used to sit with a little bit of tongue sticking out – as if after she used it, she forgot to put it all the way back in her mouth. I loved it.
This pic is both a harbinger of spring (hooray) and a reminder of Sadie.
Awww…I have one that does that too, and she’ll occasionally fall asleep that way too. So cute!
Long Island, NY: 40 degrees. 3-6 inches of snow predicted. There is always at least one more snow in March. I don’t put away my sweaters until end of April. I did hang up my heavy winter coat.
Glad to see Mother Nature is giving us some encouragement. All doggises should be crowned with flowers. And kittahs if they let u. IMHO.
Who knew the Goddess of Spring had such a delightful Derp Face?
…and is “blessing a fire hydrant” anything like “incubating a sprinkler”?
Yeah, I thought Goddess of Derp, myself.
It’s 3C (37F) here in Montreal and they are predicting 15 cm (5 inch) of snow for Thursday, keeping my fingers crossed that they are wrong and that the snow passes us by.
The garland of posies is at a nice rakish angle – goes well with the derpish tongue. Have strong desire to hug.
Wouldn’t it be the God of Spring who blessed a fire hydrant?
Well, yeah, but I couldn’t make the joke work any other way.
God of Spring, Dog of Spring, potayto, potahto …
Oops. We all missed that one. Lol.
It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.
Spring is springing along nicely here in the PNW – yesterday it was in the 60°s and sunshine. It’s mid-50°s and sprinkles at the moment, but there’s flowers and trees blooming everywhere!
Now if you’ll pardon me, I have to open a new box of tissue as an offering to the Goddess of Sneezing…
It’s sneeze season here in Illinois as well, and my sneezes are so dainty and lady-like (not). One of the news stations reported that the DC Cherry Blossoms are going to be at their peak either Thursday or Friday. A-a-a-CHOO.
Ours have peaked!
Oooh, pretty.
Perhaps the goddess hasn’t had her morning coffee yet, ‘cuz it didn’t feel like spring in VA today. Maybe if I made some kind of kibble-based offering…
