I was a bit worried that kitty was not comfortable doing this, but then he started rubbing up against Rudi’s helmet (and obscuring his vision ?) so I figured things were okay.

I had the same reaction. Kitty should get a helmet too though! (I don’t like bicycles myself so I worry.)

Like a little leather Amelia Erheart helmet.

Exactly. I think MJ would totally rock it.

          Knitted?

That’s the idea. Leather with chin strap. Red scarf flying over shoulder. Vroom vroom

              🙂

Allein, ROFLOL. Very very very close.

That’s too adorable! I think that kitty is less excited about wearing the hat than MJ is about riding a bike 🙂 Still, I now want to make one for my chi.

I agree with Duckie. Mid-ride cat giving love rubs are delightful. What a cool twosome.

I saw this last year, and I loved it then, too. I also read an article somewhere about them. Apparently he built kitty up gradually to longer rides, and only does it when/if kitty really wants to. I think it’s brilliant, personally! Shoulder kitties are the best.

Years ago, at an SF convention, there was a young man walking around with a truly beautiful and unbelieveably calm black kitty on his shoulder as part of his costume (I believe he was a warlock or some such). I honestly didn’t even realize it was a live cat until he moved, that’s how chill he was! I’ve been a huge fan of shoulder kitties ever since then, even if mine never allowed me to carry them there. 🙁

Kitty is cute, but this seems not very safe…

Pretty cool kitty! He must love the bike riding aroundness. Love the zoom sound!

      Yes. Absolutely.

This guy’s videos freaks me out but hey, kitty loves him and loves riding so who am I to say something?

Facially he reminds me of that poor French pilot who discovered a cat in his wing. It’s probably the mustache.

Cat: not good not good not good not good not

I feel terrible for that poor cat, but this comment made me ugly-laugh.

That is one cat who’s over high places.

          At your service.

I remember a dude in Belgium did this with cat from a CO video many years back.

I loved the shoulder cat then and I love it now.

This Philly dude clearly loves his cat. There is no way that he would endanger his cat. Plus, the streets of Philly are nothing like the streets of New York or other large metro areas. I never wore a helmet when I rode my bike in Philly, as opposed to NYC where I would never ride a bike period. My roommate did and I always told him he was crazy.

Center City and Old City streets (this looks like mostly
Old City) streets are much narrower than those in NYC,
except maybe lower Manhattan, so traffic, while it can
be pretty heavy, usually isn’t going as fast as NY. Love the
      old red brick.

I very much hope we never find out, but what I wonder is: If there IS a wreck, will the human get cronched by whatever ran into them, but the kitty will simply spring out of the way, twist around in midair, land on its feet, and walk away unharmed? I mean, all the down votes must be people who are worried that the kitty is in danger, but at bike speeds, isn’t there a pretty good chance a cat can take care of itself? Might be safer for the cat than the rider.

    • allein April 29, 2016 / 7:09 am

I didn’t down vote or anything but that would be my worry. If he did jump clear, he could end up jumping into traffic and getting hurt anywsy, or what if he runs off and they can’t find him?

Is this not basically the plot of Keanu?
