“Good morning! Today we’re live from the shoreline, and we’re tracking a storm rolling over the city. Heavy cloud cover along with moderate to heavy winds, currently 6.9 out of 10 on my Ear-Flap-Ometer.”

I would watch the news more if this guy did the weather. I’ll admit, Sam Champion’s cute, but he doesn’t have those ears.
[Hmm…Maybe I should have paid more attention in that meteorology class I took in college…]
I was owned by two German Shepherd pups a few years ago, and it was always amusing to wake up each morning and see which way their were facing on that particular day.
My aunt and uncle had a GSD when I was a kid. She was the sweetest dog; one of the few Big Dogs I wasn’t afraid of.
Must be a thing. I tell the temperature by what I call the puppy circle.
Tightly curled, everything tucked in, nose tucked under the tail = get all the winter gear out.
Everything tucked in but the nose outside of the tail = just the winter coat and boots.
Everything loosely tucked = just a jacket will work.
Several limbs poking outside the circle = comfy spring or fall clothes.
On the side, head pointing opposite the tail and the four limbs out = summer clothes.
Flat on the side, seemingly melting into the horizontal surface = get some ice for your drink and find some water or shade in which to partake.
One benefit of the full puppy circle is that all the fur points in the correct direction so that you can start anywhere and continually move to pet around in circles.
I have photo illustrations of this, but alas I’ve not worked hard enough to understand how to reduce the size of my pictures. Time to get out your imaginations. 🙂
I love them at that age! Their ears seem to have a mind of their own.
I just realized why fleece blankets are so popular! They’re simply big puppy ears!
? Ooooh, an idea for a cottage industry- puppy ear-shaped fleece blankets.
Oh wow. You typed puppy ears. My brain froze.
