Most mammals hear in stereo, but thanks to a rare recessive gene, Batman the black cat gets quadrophonic sound, due to an extra set of ears. When his owners couldn’t care for him anymore, the lucky cat was adopted within hours by a family with a young girl, who’ll no doubt whisper twice the sweet nothings into those extra ears.
Thanks to Andrew Y. and his impeccable cuteness radar.
Holy headphones, Batman! I don’t have sound on my computer (and don’t know why)–did they mention whether he also has a second set of middle and inner ears, or just the outer ones?
No; I was wondering about that myself.
I found this on 4 ears cats:
Four ears – a recessive mutation that produced four pinnae or ear flaps (the additional pinnae do not lead to additional ear canals and organs of hearing).
Thanks for looking this up – very cool!
He’s gorgeous! His ears look like those hybrid flowers that have an extra set of petals.
Sorry guys, I had to …
I’ll never not love this.
NO apologies!
That was awesomesauce!
I put my own words to that tune for many purposes! Thank you for adding to my repertoire/sickness.
That was way too cute! Love eet!?
I like to kiss and nibble my cats’ ears when they are in a head butting mood. More earsies to kiss. What a sweet face.
I have never heard of a 4 ear recessive gene.? How bizarre!
Just imagining the dress-up possibilities…..hats & scarves & headphones & earmuffs & ribbons & bows to keep an 8 year old girl busy and in love.
