OK, Cue the Juggling Squirrels

Shout-out to new subscriber Maia! Thank you and welcome to Cutetropolis! Now let’s explore one of nature’s stranger symbiotic relationships, between a herd of goats and a herd of rhinos. The goats enjoy protection and a boost to eatย the leaves on taller branches, and the rhinos… um, enjoy… er, having… goats on their backs… I guess.

Okay, these spa services are getting out of hand… goat-hoof massage!? What’s next?

This is like my daily puppy massage. The Goat:Rhino mass ratio looks equivalent to the Puppy:Human mass ratio in my household.

If only I could train the pups to light some aromatherapy candles….

Oh hell! Those smart goatsies are using the rhino’s for a step ladder! ๐Ÿ™‚

I just hope those goats are back-trained…

Maybe the goat hooves are scratching the rhinos in that spot that they can’t reach?

  4. Gigi the cat lady September 5, 2016 / 5:05 pm

The goats hooves are perfect for acupressure rhino massage.

    Everyone sing along!

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle rhinos…

    ..um…wait..

She had shoulder surgery the other day. She said she’s reading but typing is difficult.

          Thanks~ speedy healing, Murray!

Uhm, I was specifically told there would be Juggling Squirrels. [Taps foot impatiently on the back of a rhino.]

I like the back-scratching theory, Duckie.

I’ve seen pictures of goats that climb trees (not kidding), but not goats that climb rhinos to get to trees.

    • allein ? September 5, 2016 / 7:21 pm

      Tree-climbing goats, you say?

Hey Murray C. back from a night and couple days away; I hope all went smoothly re surgery wise and you are mending well. I also hope Clementine is ok. Be well and perhaps we will be lucky and hear from you sooner than later. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have two thoughts, first – do the goats think the rhinos are breathing rocks? and second, does anyone else think rhino ears could possibly be the cutest ears on earth? Every flick and rhino ear twitch is killing me!

    • debg September 6, 2016 / 9:57 am

I too love rhino ears. They’re adorable.

      • Murray C. September 6, 2016 / 2:39 pm

        Me, three.

Love the expression on the rhino’s faces – yup, just another day…nothing to see here….

    • D B September 5, 2016 / 11:22 pm

I think I’ve seen video of goats on horses similarly unfazed; goats must practice some form of fake out/ hypnosis on their “furniture.”

Best to Murray C! Hope you heal up soon!

I just wrote on the beach doggie post then realized I wasn’t covering my bases very well -I’m doing well, reduced the meds, learning how to cope with a big foam block jutting out from my rib cage with my arm attached to it. Thanks, you are all dear for expressing your concern and good wishes. My problem was way more complicated than originally thought and the doc worked on me for 3 hours. As far as my dear little bun goes, my poor hubby had to take her to the vet after he brought me home after surgery. It seems she scratched her cornea and what looked like a cataract is really pus from an infection so we’ve had to devise interesting strategies to give her meds. I’m the one who can do that with relative ease and he’s rather tentative. She still looks cloudy, is going in tomorrow for a follow-up visit. Take care, all, hope you had a great how li day! (Can you believe that??? HOLIDAY, dammit!)

    • Gigi the cat laddy September 6, 2016 / 5:12 am

Good to hear from you Murray C. I know it’s hard at the moment but it will all be worth it at the end (how about that for a well meaning platitude LOL!)
Hope the bunny gets better, kudos to your hubby for taking over as the meds giver, most guys I know including my husband are wuss when it comes to giving pills or injections to the fur babies.

      • Murray C. September 6, 2016 / 6:32 am

Thanks, GiGi! I am curious – when did you become Cat “Laddy” instead of “Lady”? Or am I just woefully unobservant????

        • Gigi the cat lady September 6, 2016 / 9:53 am

You are more observant than me, I didn’t notice it, I posted that from my iPad, I guess I entred the wrong name.
Funny, Cutetropolis didn’t send me into moderation.
