I dunno, he looks pretty comfy to me.
I believe this is a first–I’ve never seen a pangolin here on Cutetropolis and don’t even remember them on CuteOverload. More pangolins, please!
Cool story: CITES just got everybody to agree on a pangolin trade ban. Every little bit helps. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/30/science/endangered-pangolins-trade-ban.html
I’d guess there was at least one featured on CO, but you’re right, this is our first pangolin. I’ll surely look for more pictures.
YAY! I’ve been signing petitions to that effect and it seems others here have, too. Wonderful news.
I think that baby’s face is so beautiful – almost like a fantasy illustration with those little spiral ears and that lovely coloring. Gorgeous creatures.
I too love those spiral ears–they’re just amazing. Now I’m imagining a knitted pangolin with little spirals on its head and scales on its body.
That is even cuter than the real thing. Now I’m picturing how to make it with crochet instead of knitting. I am not patient enough to knit. I also do not need more projects in my queue.

😀
I love the scales on the crocheted version. I did bookmark the page, and will likely buy that pattern at some point in the near future.
ETA: Thanks for finding it!
Maybe in fleece?
Maybe Felt. Felt scales. Felt spiral ears. I’m not crafty. Just sayin.
Felt probably would give you an easier time with constructing the scales since it has stiffness. Don’t think you could represent the scales in fleece–too droopy. I guess it would depend on whether cuddley or accurate was your goal.?
Where, please?
He came from here. There’s an email address where you can request the pattern.
You might be interested in “dragon gloves”! Cool scales! I saw them on Bored Panda.
Yes. Dinopangolosaurus.
That is great news! I am not familiar with these animals but they are uniquely beautiful and deserve our protection!
Excuse me. You’ve got somthin right there.
I’m pretty sure there were pangolins on CO. I’m too lazy to look it up, though.
I’m almost positive there were. Googling ‘web archive cute overload’ doesn’t seem to work, though.
Try searching Google for site:cuteoverload.com pangolin
This will show you links and text excerpts from pages that had the word “pangolin” in them. Apparently a pangolin was featured as early as 2006.
Doesn’t work for me. Only goes to the site that says the domain name may be for sale.
I get the same result. We can’t actually see the pages on CO anymore, but that search result shows that there was once a page in 2006 that featured pangolins.
Hey Mike –
All this talk of CO makes me think about the 10 years of joyful content that just seems to have disappeared in a “poof”.
Any chance you could convince Meg to put it all on a disc that she could sell on Amazon (or anywhere)? I would definitely pay at least $15 for it, especially if it was searchable by the categories they had, e.g., pups, cute or sad, rules, etc.
Seems a shame to have it just gone.
I got unlazy and did a search using the Wayback Machine.
https://web.archive.org/web/20160502141959/http://cuteoverload.com/2014/11/17/yeah-yeah-yeah-pangolin-bebeh/
You can find captures of CO on archive.org, although I’d be interested in buying a disc with the archives. I was only able to find this page by first googling as Mike suggested then putting in the URL from the google search into The Wayback Machine.
Edit: Okay, that last sentence sound kinds weird but I’m too lazy to fix it.
On the up side, CO was blocked at work but CO via the Wayback Machine is not. 😀
Mom taxi always on call.
This picture is the very definition of “Mom taxi,” doncha think?
Adorable! Pangolins are the best. So glad to hear about the trade ban too.
I suppose Mom Taxi could use a little cushion on the tail, but the baby pangolin looks like he’s ready to snooze.
That’s the look of a little kid that had a really good time at their friend’s birthday party. He’s gonna have a good snooze.
They always fall asleep in the car…
Adorabuhls! I can hear the “honk-shus”???
And the plink-plink of eye capsules.
I also thank you for the pangolin. They are severely underappreciated.
