Hey Canada! We’ll trade you the bird loons for our other kinda loons!

      I second that.

Me thinks that that polar bear is just playing with its eventual food…

That adorable skateboarding kitten! She’s killing me.

My own rescue, Scorpius, now engages in play with me and accepts treats (not from my hand). If I’m lying in bed and pick up the kitty wand, he’ll play with me and the other cats. Finally got a picture of him last night!

Scorpius!!! What a frelling awesome name!! Farscape, the most brilliant and underrated show ever!!!

      • DebG November 18, 2016 / 11:36 am

It’s actually Scorpius Malfoy, but we can say I also meant Farscape. Though I just looked up that character on Wikipedia, I don’t remember him at all. Might be time for a re-watch, eh?

Ah. Scorpius Malfoy is awesome, too but I always associate it first with Farscape. I loved that show and was furious when SyFy cancelled it for no other reason than they simply didn’t want to pay for it anymore. Then they turned right around and did Battlestar Galactica and spent tons of money on it. /end thread hijack/

/rehijack thread/ Speaking of Harry Potter, anyone going to see the new movie tonight?

Tomorrow for me! Can’t wait. It’s the only thing that’s been keeping me going lately. Well, that and the cats.

Tomorrow for me, too! So excited!

Beautiful mini-panther, regardless of etymology :).

Gorgeous boy. I can’t wait until he figures out he has nothing to fear.

Polar bear: “well hello”, *pet pet* “haven’t seen you around here before”.
Dog: “I’m not comfortable with that. Please no pet”
Polar bear: *pet* “but you are so cute”
Dog (shifty eyes) gets up to walk away
Polar bear follows: “but we were getting along so well, what did I say?….”
Dog: “help, where is my person? Stop hiding and get over here”

    • LunaChickFringe November 18, 2016 / 11:39 am

Polar bear: *pet pet sneeef* “and you smell deeeelicious”

Love your version of the conversation!

While I was reading the story about the skateboard kitten, everyone else in the building started cutting onions.

I join ranks of Canadians who have never even SEEN one of those whiskeyjack grey jays that are now our official bird (according to the Canadian Geographic Society that actually has no real authority to pick an official bird).

    • ffleur2 November 18, 2016 / 4:23 pm

And that is why the whiskeyjack grey jay could be the national bird, because like a Canadian its so polite you never notice it.

      • Birdcage November 18, 2016 / 4:41 pm

And if you do accidentally see it, it will just say “Oh, sorry! Excuse me, sir.” and then sidestep around you to make room for you to walk on by….

I would love to be found cute by a polar bear, especially if I don’t get eaten afterwards. Skateboarding kitten grew up to be such a beautiful cat.

A story was published on Nov 21 about the polar bear.It ate the dog.Turns out some guy keeps his sled dogs chained up to attrack polar bears for tourists. What you see is the bear playing with his food.
