If you’re trying to wind down and prepare for the weekend, maybe a nice swim in Bali would help. Let’s float away with the clown-fish and the rays — and the trippiest part of all at the 1:32 mark, a crinoid, also known as a feather starfish.
Suggested by Amy F. and Faye.
That was incredible! The feather starfish almost looked fake.
Just…wow.
Beautiful video. Sea creatures like these are so pretty.
Feather starfish is AMAZING! I’m so thankful that I went diving on the Great Barrier Reef many years ago. Much of it is dying due to climate change. 🙁
I had never heard of a feather starfish! They are beautiful!
I love this place, I keep learning amazing stuff, thanks Mike, Amy F. and Faye!
I’m the Amy F. that submitted this and I am so glad you enjoyed it. Beautiful, isn’t it? Some of those amazing creatures look like special effects…mesmerizing!
That starfish – whoa! Trippy is right. Love the ‘flying’ rays and the sea turtles too.
An aquatic feather duster!
And it’s name is Swifter, Swifter.
LOL – that took me a minute! 😀
I read “at the 1:32 Mark, a crinoid, also known as a feather starfish” wrong and was wondering why it was named Mark.
😀
Mark, a crinoid starfish… roflol
…because his friend Sam isn’t in this video…?
Had never encountered crinoid starfish. Now. That’s what I want to come back as.
The rays that appeared just before Mark looked like a cross between manta rays, penguins and platypuses.
I was thinking bottle-nosed dolphins and platypuses.
Absolutely stunning at full screen on my big monitor!
Wait, aren’t crinoids some of the most ancient life forms? You find them fossilized along with trilobites. AmyLiz, you must know about the Devonian Fossil Gorge in Coralville, right?!
Yep have found many a fossil there!
My jaw literally dropped at the feather starfish!! I had to Google more images of them. They’re like majestic muppets!!
Majestic Muppets – another great band name!
