Hey, What’cha Dooin?

Cleaning the house, huh? Wow, that looks like hard work. You’re picking up piles of stuff from over there, and putting them in piles over here, when they were just fine where they were. And all that dust you keep wiping away? I’ll just come back in a few days. Not sure why you bother, really.

Wow, I’m glad that’s not MY job.

    Smart kitty. That’s why I don’t dust.

    • Dulcie December 9, 2016 / 12:06 pm

Yes my kitty doesn’t have to ponder these activities overly much!
But talk about a sweety – wonderful markings! A work of animal coat art!!

Kitty looks like a little kid patiently waiting for mom to fix his chocolate milk.

Kitty is adorable. And I’m inclined to agree with kitty philosophy re house-cleaning. Really, why bother? Doesn’t the dust just preserve everything?

I agree with the late Quentin Crisp – why bother dusting? After the first two years it never looks any worse.

        My new mantra. Thenkew muchly.

          He was a hoot!

            YES! Loved him.

And that is one spectacular kitty – cuddles wanted. Especially since our cat isn’t a cuddler. Sigh.

    OMG so cute!

Ricky’s Mom, how are you both?

    • Ricky's Mom December 9, 2016 / 3:51 pm

Thanks for asking, Debg. Ricky seems to be doing pretty well today. He already had quite a lot of little-old-man ailments and aches and pains, so mostly the heart disease is just one more thing. Really his dementia is the most difficult thing to deal with, as it makes him very uncooperative about important things like taking his meds and wearing a coat when it’s freezing outside. He’s decided he doesn’t like my hands, and he bites them when I try to help him. I guess it’s a blessing he only has four teeth left.

        Hang in there Ricky’s mom.

      • Laura December 9, 2016 / 6:50 pm

Animals get dementia, too? I’m just surprised by that. And sorry for Ricky. It’s a very confusing way to have to live, if his dementia is anything like humans’ experiences. I hope you’re able to continue to keep him as happy and comfortable as you can. But I’d never realized that animals could have dementia, too. You learn something new every day!

I understand that dogs suffer from it more frequently than cats. But don’t quote me on that.

      • Murray C. December 9, 2016 / 8:30 pm

Aw, R’s Mom – I’m sorry your old guy is feeling his age. So sad he’s biting the hand that feeds him. It’s kind of weird because if I hadn’t known you were talking about a dog you could just as easily be talking about a person.

    that is a STUNNING kitteh!!!!!!

  6. Flowerfanatic December 9, 2016 / 12:31 pm

Sitting like a human with his ‘paws’ in his lap is what got me. Looks like a Bengal. They’re known for their vivid markings. I agree, dust MUST have a purpose so why not just leave it alone!! It always seems to return so the effort to remove it is quite useless.

Dust bunnies are the ultimate in easy-care pets.

Beautiful kitty! My dad had the same philosophy about house work, he would tell us kids “it’s a waste of time to make the bed in the morning because you’re just going un-make it tonight” Used to drive my mom crazy. ?

    • tara December 9, 2016 / 1:29 pm

Ha! Your dad didn’t have a cat like my Jacques. 😉 An unmade bed is an open invitation to an annoyed cat to pee in it. Favorite reasons are, “you got home from work too late,” “I want out and you won’t let me even though it’s midnight,” “no food in my bowl,” and ” I already went in my litter box today”. That’ll learn ya real quick. Made bed? Not so tempting. Maybe because it is a less satisfying surprise? Wish I knew how they think sometimes.

This kitty I’m sure would NEVER do such a thing. So gorgeous! And sitting like a people! So cute!

      • Gigi the cat lady December 9, 2016 / 2:20 pm

Well I have 5 cats now, and although they have never peed on my bed they have often left hair balls on it, so I do make my bed now. I even put on an extra thick blanket over the whole bed so if I discover a “gift” right before bedtime it didn’t go all the way through and I don’t have to wash the sheets before going to bed.

Beautiful cat, elegant even, demonstrating perfect kitty behaviour. (Quite unlike my naughty kittens, who stole my shoelaces and tore them apart today.)

I always wonder how much I would clean if one day my life became less stressful and I would not need it to soothe my nerves.

    • allein ? December 9, 2016 / 2:10 pm

I wish I was one of those people who relieved stress via cleaning. Every once in a while, I do, but usually when I survey the mess of my house the thought just adds to my stress.

      • Rachel December 9, 2016 / 6:55 pm

Exactly. About the only thing that really get me cleaning (to a point) are the yearly inspections my apartment complex does. I gotta say my place is nice and clean and decluttered as of yesterday morning. 🙂

        Beautiful kitteh! Ridiculous pose!

        • allein ? December 9, 2016 / 7:32 pm

A while back I had a really shiny bathtub. I need to channel that this weekend.

  9. Faye December 9, 2016 / 2:03 pm

Waiting for Martini. Shaken then stirred because he’s a cat and can’t decide.

  10. Smartypants December 9, 2016 / 5:25 pm

    Don’t remove dust – that’s the protective layer! 😀
