Meanwhile, in the County Jail…

From their adjacent cells, Stan and Dupree tried to piece together the events of the previous evening. Their memories of what happened after the third round of tequila were a bit vague; although they were pretty sure it was Stan’s idea to steal the police car, Dupree was behind the wheel when they ended up in the town fountain. They shared a quiet high-five and went back to sleeping it off.

“You the man!” “No, YOU the man!”

A good friend will bail you out of jail. A great friend will be in the next cell.

    Or something like that.

I think you’ve nailed it, Allein.

Actually, I think it ends with you know you have a BFF when they help you hide the bodies, LOL.

Yeah, I was too lazy to look up the actual quote.

Shawshank Redemption was on TV last night so some of this comment thread is VERY fresh for me. On that note: ever notice how Shawshank Redemption is always on TV somewhere??? I’m amazed how many times I flip through the dial (not that there are dials any more) and find Shawshank Redemption on the schedule, usually on some specialty channel. It’s a movie I know so well at this stage that it doesn’t matter whether it’s just starting, or halfway through, or 15 minutes from the end – I can just join the narrative whereever and just enjoy.

Yeah, AMC plays it a lot. They have the best edit, in my opinion. I caught it on WE TV once, and I couldn’t figure out why they bothered, it was so heavily, and badly, edited (also, it just doesn’t seem like the kind of thing they would show). A&E and TNT aren’t too bad. One of these days I will have to watch it on DVD again. It’s been so long since I saw the full movie. But, yes, it’s one of the few movies that I can jump into at any point, and will almost always watch if I happen upon while channel surfing. One of my favorites.

They’ll get homes soon, I’m sure of it.

Yes, I bet they’ve both been adopted by now. And I went back to the previous post with a ladder and put him back in with his friends. 😀

What’s wrong with me today, I can’t find the funny, I see only the sad.

Me too, Gigi. You’re not alone.

I’m listening to the TED Radio Hour podcast’s “Simply Happy” episode. Probably the third time I’ve heard it, but I guess they’re rerunning it on purpose right now (from Dec. 30).

Maybe when we know Ani is doing better, Mike could post my Happiest Dog In The World video that I sent him last night.

They should stick to catnip in future. And refrain from stealing police cars.

It looks like two jailhouse lovers passing notes. A cat has gotta get by on the inside.

A good friend will bail you out. A great friend will be sitting next to you on the bench going, “Damn, that was fun!”

Looks like Dupree’s a gal, what with that shaved belly and spay-scar and all.
