Fiona the preemie hippo broke another milestone today when she weighed in at 101 pounds! “It’s all that good meelk, hay, and grain she’s now consuming,” says sender-inner Lois M. In other news from the Cincinnati Zoo’s Fiona page, the baby blorper is learning how to sleep underwater, a vitally important hippo skill.
Yay!
Moist never looked so good.
Water Horse ??
I want the video to go on and on – love watching her.
I know–she looks so sweet and happy.
One of the most pleasurable things about watching her is seeing her trust in, and ease with, the humans taking care of her.
Yes!
Yes! I love her curiosity about the camera (or the human behind it) – I think that’s a new behavior?
She looks so healthy and happy – I squee’d out loud.
Yea Fiona!! You go girl!
I’d love to know how the humans teach Fiona all these hippo survival skills.
If I got my puppy as a newborn, I’m fairly certain I would not have been able to teach him dog survival skills: how to lift his leg when he pees, how to find just the right poop spot, how to bark at nothing, etc.
How to bark at nothing … (snortlaff)
Yay Fiona!
I loffs Fiona. But I wish I could get that excited about breaking 100. I would, if I were going from the opposite direction. Or maybe if I were bowling. I’m a terrible bowler.
The ear wiggles get me every time.
Yes – and she’s added some nose wiggles (starting at about :25 when she’s nursing from her bottle).
