Beautiful and calming! I love hummies so much.
I love watching birds bathing. We have a bird bath in the backyard of my mother’s house. Whenever we change the water, it seems the word goes out and very soon thereafter the neighborhood birds appear for a dip. I have seen as many as four bathing at a time, and it’s a small bath. They come even when it’s really cold.
I’m not a beach/pool person, but I would gladly attend a Hummingbird Pool Party any day!!
Amazing! Now I want a hummingbird bath! I feel lucky when I get two hummingbirds on the feeder at the same time. They do not like to share their territories. Here in the Pacific Northwest our Anna’s hummingbirds stay year-round but I know it’s spring because I saw the first rufous of the year a couple of days ago.
That is magical!
I’m guessing karaoke’s not a real big draw at a hummingbird party…
The trickling water and hum is a wonderful combination.
“Fred, don’t you dare fart in the jacuzzi!”
Seriously, though, that is lovely – their coloring is so jewel-like.
I’ve been to a yard in LA that draws crowds of hummingbirds like this, which is a very popular spot on a garden tour. I don’t remember a fountain like this, but there was tiny stream running through the property; and there were a dozen hummingbird feeders. You could stand among the feeders and feel like you were in the middle of a flight path at LAX except: hummers! And very habituated hummers that did not flinch at the dozens of garden tourists but simply wove in and out to get at the feeders.
That sounds delightful – I can really picture it.
