OMG, my four older siblings used to do the “Stop hitting yourself!” thing with me! This doggie seems more relaxed with it than I ever was!

Perhaps this older sibling ‘Stop hitting yourself!’ may not be a localized phenomenon after all …hmmm.

I was wondering if it was only a US thing or if it happens elsewhere; maybe also in non-anglophone cultures, too? I think it was one of our cousins who introduced me and my sibs to this bit of silliness; nobody in my family ever did the “hitting” very hard, and it reduced us to giggles pretty quickly.
I wonder what this behavior means in dogs …

If this was my dog, I would think there is something wrong with him.
Me thinks doggie likes to boop his own nose.
