After some configuration changes to the site, some users report that they must enter their name and email address every time they comment. If that’s happening for you, try this: Use your browser’s function to “clear browsing data” or “clear cache” (the wording may be different on your browser). Look for a command to clear “cookies” and clear that data for the past two weeks or longer.
Several people have reported this issue to me, but I am not able to reproduce the error on my own computer, so if the above step doesn’t solve the problem, I may not be able to help further.
I have done as advised – I realize that I search with “Duck-Duck Go” – can that be an issue? But I don’t search for Cutetropolis, so I really haven’t a clue. We shall see what happens. Thanks for your help. Mike.
No, your choice of search website should not be a factor. I gather that the advice did not help you; if so, try clearing cookie data going further back in time.
I just deleted all the cutetropolis and wordpress cookies. We’ll see if that helps. I’m being optimistic and putting my pawprints back into my name.
For some reason this site does remember me without any fixes needed. Thank goodness for small blessings.

OK trying your solution
This is a test
I tied it and my info did not reappear. Let’s see if re-entering it makes it stick for the future.
Hi Mike – it worked for me using Chrome on a PC. Tonight, I’ll try it on my iPad.
Wow. I tried to enter the comment above from my desktop. It told me that I had already made that comment. I went to my phone and saw the comment had appeared but it shows only on my phone. My name and email also sppear on my phone but not on my desk top.
So I can’t comment at all from my desktop.
Never mind. Now the comments are appearing on my phone and on the desk top but the desktop won’t remember me.
Yet another technological snafu that I can’t deal with .
I’m very sorry this is happening. If you are able and willing to install a different web browser, that may provide a clue about where the problem lies (I would not expect you to switch browsers permanently, of course).
If your web browser has a “private browsing” or “incognito” mode, you might try browsing in that mode to see if you are remembered during that session. (However, you’ll be forgotten once you close the session.)
You may want to try clearing all your browsing data, but be aware that this may cause other websites that you visit to “forget” you.
Thank you but mostly I have no idea what you’re talking about. I use Safari and I researched how to do what you suggested doing and “cleared ” my “cache(s)?” It didn’t work. I have now reached the stage where frustration has morphed into rage, as it frequently and quickly does with technology. It’s not worth struggling. For example, my name and email have now disappeared from the phone also. I give up.
DON”T GIVE UP – we don’t want to lose you!
PS I cleared everything and I still have to re-enter my name and email.
Thank you! I won’t go away. It just makes commenting a little irritating. But who knows? As I’m writing this I see my name and email already filled in in the boxes!
It also just told me when I tried to post my response to your suggestions that I had already commented. I opened the post again and there was my comment.
http://www.imore.com/how-to-view-history-clear-website-data-cookies Dubra, once you clear your history the first time it will ask you to put in your information again. You are starting with a clear, clean slate. After that you should be good to go. But heads up, you should clear your history, make it a habit once a week or so.
Thank you. Unfortunately, my Safari doesn’t look like the one in the link.
I wish I could remote, share desktop with you Dubra. Next friend, family member or co-worker who is handy with computers ask them to show you how to do this– and then do it a couple times by yourself when they are there so you get a hang of it. I have spent at least an hour with my Dad each visit with his phone.
Thanks so much. No such person. I’ll live with the inconvenience.
Testing
I don’t seem to have any problem at all.
I’m on Firefox, Windows 7.
Not remembering me still. I was trying to avoid deleting everything because of other sites that remember me, but I might have to try it.
Edit: It remembers me when the page reloads after I comment, but if I close the page it forgets.
I use Safari most of the time and I tried clearing my cookies but it didn’t work. I did the same thing with Firefox and it looks like it worked and on my iPad I never had the problem.
Last test, this time I deleted ALL the cookies in my Safari browser.
And it seems to have worked!!!
I’m willing to enter my name and email for my first comment. Then it remembers me until I close the window. I don’t have to enter it for each comment.
This tip worked for me. Thanks, Mike! Good luck, everyone else!
Mike .. Now I know running a web site / blog / cuteness site is very hard .. but stealing
the reader’s cookies .. Shame on you !!
I blame my new editorial assistant:
You hired HIM ?? You know these guys work harder and for peanuts … right ??
