Puh-leeze Line Up!

OK, for this photo shoot, the client wants the kittens arranged by color from lightest to darkest; and also by tail floof density, from thickest to thinnest; and then by what tree they would be if they could be any kind of tree, in descending order of height; and then chronologically by favorite Roman emperor; and then…

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Kittens – and all they stand for!

  2. allein April 18, 2017 / 8:57 am

Which one would be this tree?

    • michael April 18, 2017 / 9:06 am

      The one that reads Lovecraft.

      • allein April 18, 2017 / 9:09 am

        Hahaha!

I originally saw that pic on Facebook with the caption, “I think that I shall never see / A poem as lovely as a WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!”

        • fkaWaldenPond April 18, 2017 / 11:35 am

My lord, that belongs in the front garden of the ‘Great and Benevolent Cottontail’.

        • Duckie ? April 18, 2017 / 11:49 am

Allein, you may want to mark this date as the day you made me inhale tea through my nose and then snork it out.
I’m off to make a clean cup of tea, and to blot my iPad.

          • allein ? April 18, 2017 / 12:23 pm

            Yay!!

        • Murray C April 18, 2017 / 2:20 pm

I think it ate something that disagreed with it (don’t ever argue with that tree)

          • allein ? April 18, 2017 / 2:37 pm

I shared it in a Facebook group and someone said, “can you imagine being three sheets to the wind and walking past that?”

            • Dana April 18, 2017 / 5:29 pm

It would probably look like the most normal tree under such conditions.

      • Smartypants April 18, 2017 / 11:42 am

LOL, “Lovecraft” was my first thought too – I distinctly heard eldritch wailing!

      • Murray C April 18, 2017 / 2:14 pm

        ?

    • Duckie ? April 18, 2017 / 11:46 am

Not one of the fluff balls would want to BE that tree, but they’d all love to be IN it.
Might even improve the tree’s appearance.

      • Murray C April 18, 2017 / 2:15 pm

Oh, yes, Duckie – little bums and cute little faces peaking out – great improvement insofar as the scary aspect.

  3. tara April 18, 2017 / 9:00 am

Hmm, this looks like a fun game. Points should be given for how many the player can actually get in line and facing the camera all at once.

    • Sarah Richardson April 18, 2017 / 11:50 am

Yes! Flower arrangements are judged and ranked, why not the even-more-fun kitten arrangements?!

  4. Gigi the cat lady April 18, 2017 / 9:00 am

LOL!! It made me think of 3 card monte, “Follow the white kitten with your eye as I shuffle. Here he is, and now here, now here, and nowβ€”where? ”

And I love the little dark one on the end that keeps trying to run away to the back of the room, such determination!

    • Duckie ? April 18, 2017 / 11:41 am

He needed to use the litter box. Badly.

      • Smartypants April 18, 2017 / 11:45 am

Yes, he’s like “Let me go or I’mma pee on your socks!”

  5. sumo-mermaid April 18, 2017 / 9:31 am

Why, it’s like trying to herd cats.

    • AJ April 18, 2017 / 11:08 am

Exactly! I think this video should be in the dictionary under “cat-herding”, finest example I’ve ever seen. I haven’t laughed so hard since …. well, since Mike’s last post, lol.

      • Emmberrann April 18, 2017 / 11:59 am

        Lol. Too.

  6. Emsthemonster April 18, 2017 / 9:35 am

Thank dog there is no limit how many times I can watch the same video, this is wonderfully cute.
This reminds me of my co-worker who wanted to watch a cute puppy -gif until the end πŸ™‚

  7. Dana April 18, 2017 / 9:53 am

OMG what a great laugh! Loved it when the guy picked up three at once.

    • Juno April 18, 2017 / 12:22 pm

Yes, that’s the bit that made me go “WAAAHHH!!” out loud.

    • kodalai April 18, 2017 / 4:24 pm

Not that it hugely matters — but is it a guy? I assumed based on the bracelet and freshly smooth legs, that the fluff-herder was a fluffherdess.

      • Emsthemonster April 18, 2017 / 4:38 pm

I think it is a guy. It is a men’s watch (s)he is wearing. Also the very long fingers and the relatively big feet make me think he is a he.

        • Duckie ? April 18, 2017 / 11:17 pm

I agree. Some of those leg images seem to have fuzzy halos.

  8. kodalai April 18, 2017 / 10:18 am

I think my favorite bit is in the middle when the hands plunk the grey kitten down ON TOP of the white one; this actually manages to hold them for a few moments as they both visibly try to puzzle out what happened and what to do next.

    • debg April 18, 2017 / 10:22 am

Yes, that was my fave too.

This vid reminded me of EVERY teaching-anxiety dream I’ve ever had: big room full of rowdy students who won’t shut up when I want to start class. I get one section quieted down, while another one bursts into mayhem, and on it goes.

I never tried stacking students, however. That might have worked.

    • Lucy's Mom April 18, 2017 / 10:46 am

My fave as well. You really could read the confuzzlement on their faces.

    • Jendeyan April 18, 2017 / 4:49 pm

My definite favorite moment. White kitten did not look happen to be in that situation.

    • Starfish April 18, 2017 / 5:40 pm

Definitely love the little “wut the…?” expressions.

Maybe the solution to herding cats is to build up instead of out!

      • allein ? April 18, 2017 / 6:56 pm

        Kitten jenga!

  9. diane in los angeles April 18, 2017 / 11:36 am

My poor keyboard was an innocent victim of this cat herding.

  10. Violet's Mum April 18, 2017 / 11:36 am

I like the little white one at the end who tries to swim away.

    • Dana April 18, 2017 / 5:42 pm

That one is so sweet! Poor thing must have been absent when they taught “back leg maneuvering”. “Why won’t these things work, darnit?”

    • Ricky's Mom April 18, 2017 / 6:01 pm

Yes, that was my fave, too.

  11. LunaChickFringe April 18, 2017 / 11:50 am

This is my job but with no kittens ?

    • Emsthemonster April 18, 2017 / 11:53 am

and I thought I have a difficult job πŸ™‚ Iam not that sure any more πŸ™‚

    • Murray C April 18, 2017 / 2:17 pm

I kept thinking this was more difficult than playing croquet with flamingoes.

      • Emsthemonster April 18, 2017 / 2:20 pm

        lol πŸ™‚

  12. Faye April 18, 2017 / 12:38 pm

I love that there are more than two matching pairs of Kitties. At one point I thought the human had a few pairs matched up.

I also love that the guy is wearing socks. Knowledgeable kittie care giver protection tactic. No squished toe beans or tailios.

  13. Laura April 18, 2017 / 3:09 pm

They should have just talked to Laurie of the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee — she regularly takes photos of 5, 6, or even more kittens with them all politely facing front! It’s truly impressive; she’s clearly found the secret.

Honestly, I laughed so hard at this video — and these comments! — I nearly had an asthma attack! Now I’m wheezing and I *still* can’t stop laughing!!!

    • Ricky's Mom April 18, 2017 / 6:04 pm

That was my first thought, Laura! The pix over at IBKC are always phenomenal. Have you seen them since she got her new camera? If you thought she was good before … Yowza!

      • Laura April 19, 2017 / 1:44 am

Ain’t that the truth, Ricky’s Mom! Did you see the closeups today of the various kitten parts? I swear you could count the hairs, they’re so crisp and clear! She’s a really talented photographer as well as, of course, holding a doctorate in kitten-herding!

  14. Jen Baz April 18, 2017 / 3:37 pm

I NEED THIS JOB!! Oh how the sillies feed me! Also, why is no one giggling in the video?

  15. Jan April 18, 2017 / 6:14 pm

I need a 10 hour loop of this STAT!
