I love when Fiona wriggles her body into the best position for maximum sprayage and then tries to rest her head on the seat to take a little nap.

It’s sad about Patrick but he had a very good life with lots and lots of cuddles and love.
Fiona looks like she finds the shower very relaxing but I worry sometimes that she is going to miss all the interesting places she gets to roam and play in when she gets bigger and goes to live with mom and dad.

No worries. What you are seeing for Fiona is an example of what they do for stimulation for all the animals. Ex. Treats frozen inside basketball sized ice for the polar bears. They play with them first, then get the treats. Things inside balls for the big cats. All kinds of fun things. I would guess the benefits of being with other hippos outweighs indoor showers. The big hippos get to play in the hose as well.

It will be really funny if Fiona ends up being like those dogs who always think they are “puppy sized” and try to squeeze themselves into/onto things that they no longer fit in.

NOOOO, Patrick! But Gigi’s right–he had a great life. I look forward to seeing what the zoo does with his memorial.
Oh, and here’s a Fiona pic that I keep meaning to send in. She loves her green floatie!

Aw, poor Patrick π At least he had a good, long life, and was surrounded by people who loved him at the end.
Fiona biting at the water helps a bit. Still the cutest gaping maw ever.
Also Mr. Mustache and the kitty with the spiral fur.
Kitty with the mismatched eyes is beautiful, but I’m finding it’s the teeny pink nose that really gets me.
Quote of the day: βI only have so much time to devote to my catβs social life.β Good for Bubba and his scholarly ways. I hope he gets to graduate with “his” class.

RIP Patrick! He is probably the Wombat who made me fall in love with them in the first place. Such a life of luxury, being rolled around in a wheel barrow. π What a wonderful guy.
And Fiona… I could watch that cute little blorpy all. day. long. sigh.
