Stop. Just Stop.

Silly Boo the cat doesn’t like being locked out of the bedroom, so he gets revenge every morning by giving the door stop a few good thwon-n-n-n-ngs. (By the way, musical experts will recognize that as the rare G-minor door stop, unlike the majority of door stops tuned to middle C.)

    This cat is a genius.

If the owner was a genius he would move the door stopper to the baseboard.

I don’t even try to shut doors in my house, for this very reason. It’s sometimes a shock when I have guests, who don’t understand that they have to use the loo with friends.

Be glad he doesn’t sing along.

I love how he knows when it’s a nice good thwon-n-n-ng and doesn’t touch it. Other times it is thunk, thunk, thwong.

I feel no pity for this man.
And I understand having to share. I used to look after my best friend’s cats (before they went to the Rainbow Bridge), and she had them trained, for some reason, to expect kitty treats when she was enthroned. The door would be closed, and grabby paws would slip under the door trying to get the treats they knew would be there. She forgot to warn me, and the first time it happened, I nearly became disenthroned!

      That’s hilarious, Duckie.

This guy actually seems to enjoy his early morning wake-up call. He’s certainly got a good sense of humor about it.

I’ve had my roommate’s cat reach under the door, steal my underwear, and go tearing through the house carrying my glow-in-the-dark cow boxers.

I gave up on closing the bedroom and bathroom door a long long time ago.

I haven’t gone to the bathroom or to bed alone in years, unless the current cat was super sound asleep. I can’t seem to convince any cat or dog (should I be in a house with one) that I leave them alone while they’re doing their business, so why can’t they let me do mine. 🙂

Say, maybe that’s the answer – stand over them and poke at the cat box while they’re using it, and maybe they’ll take the hint! (….or maybe they’ll just wait and pee in your shoes. Never mind!)

When I babysit, Stripes often comes down to use the litter box while I’m cleaning them. They have three; he inevitably uses the one I just finished scooping.

It’s like having a toddler — getting to pee alone isn’t a luxury that arrives when the kids get older. No, that’s when the cats — and one certain little black cocker spaniel — feel obligated to take over the duty. At least the dog doesn’t try to sit on my lap at the most inopportune times!
