Well, that’s a hoot! What a compliant – and very come-hitherish – little bird! I want to see the contact sheet (or whatever the equivalent is today)
Does anyone else have the feeling that the camera sound will soon be part of the bird’s repertoire???
Yes, absolutely. In David Sedaris’s wonderful “Repeat After Me” story, he mentions birds that can mimic the refrigerator and coffeemaker noises.
I work with a lot of models on photo shoots, and this one is really good. Too bad it probably can’t wear a sweater sized for people!
My husband worked in a building that blocked cell phone signals, so everyone made their calls from an outdoor terrace. And the local mockingbird population had learned to mimic ALL the different phone rings. So nobody knew if they were hearing their phones or the birds!
!
It would be even scarier if the mockingbirds repeated the conversations.
They always wear so much makeup when being filmed…
Give me Blue Steel darling!
Oops! Forgot the photo.

I’m sure they only read it for the articles.
That Full Frontal Featherly .. whoa ..
Letters to Birdhouse…
I never thought this would happen to me!
I love how he/she whips its head around as if it’s flipping its hair.
Birdie really knows how to work it for the camera!
Birds on film? Sorry, the camera noise brings me back to the 80’s 🙂
Earworm!
Ahhh! you beat me to it Caz!! But my version is ‘Boids on Film’ https://youtu.be/KCjMZMxNr-0
As beautiful as Fred Astaire photographing Audrey Hepburn in the movie Funny Face (1957). My first “exposure” to fashion photography.
Isn’t that movie wonderful, Faye? By the way, TCM has Roman Holiday on tonight at 8.
Oh my. That is a wonderful movie.
Not as pretty as this bird, but I encountered this little robin yesterday. I went outside and this baby was sitting in my driveway, apparently too little to know to avoid humans. I walked up to 2 feet away, leaned down, and snapped a picture. Just then his mother flew past me, landed on the fence and squawked, which made the baby fly away. I assume she was scolding him for talking to strangers.
I think this a very pretty little bird, Patty!
What a cute little bird!
Oh, how sweet!
I met a tiny kitten today and got to hold him. We were visiting a place trying to find somewhere to retire in our dealing years! and the woman who manages the place we went to fosters abandoned kittens. Very tempting!
A kitty will find you when the time is right!
