One fateful night, Tuxedo Marvin wandered into the laboratory of reclusive scientist J. Morton Florfkin, who had absentmindedly left his Electro-Orbitron running. After absorbing its mysterious power, the timid mild-mannered cat became (drum roll)…
… rather interested in the thing and annoyed when it was turned off.
(PS: I don’t think the cat felt any physical sensation, because I’ve touched those toys and they don’t do that.)
I was waiting for the whap! 🙂
That was the nerdiest Whap I’ve ever seen!
All of my cats have acted like that, being extra cautious. “If not sure, jump back.” ?
“If not sure jump back, give it three good “whaps!”,then investigate again” seems to be a universal rule with cats!
Don’t interrupt my experiment!
Later, Marvin was heard to mutter under his breath, “Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!” but when questioned denied having said anything.
“Please exshtinguish all schmoking materials…”
Throw The Switch (Back On) Igor !!
Not the third switch!
Put the Candle Back!!!
Seda-give?
?
Maybe the cat liked the “buzzy” sensation on its nose. I recall an earlier Cuteropolis entry featuring a cat and one of these plasma globes.
I had a plasma lamp years ago but my cat at the time couldn’t have cared less. Then again if you couldn’t eat it Fatso wasn’t interested.
Florfkin!
Mmm…delicious electricity!
Surprised it didn’t get whapped onto the floor.
I can’t believe no one has posted this yet!
This was the entry I was talking about! I remember the pink sparks around the black cat’s paws.
NTMTOM trying to assuage nuffers: I don’t think the cat felt any physical sensation, because I’ve touched those toys and they don’t do that.
Me: Did you lick the toy? (If so, ick!) Maybe it’s different if you lick it. Or maybe it made a sound we couldn’t hear. The cat was reacting to SOMEthing.
The toy is designed to react to touch with plasma filaments that look like mini lightning bolts (but aren’t; the electricity is in the electrode in the center). So I think the cat was reacting to movement, not electrical sensation.
