It was a warm Friday afternoon as I maintained watch on my target. Sooner or later, she’d make that careless mistake, and I’d be there to catch her in the act. However, I soon began to suspect that she had stumbled onto my clever method of camouflage.
This is Peeking Penny, sent by Faye and Paul P. The nice lady actually drilled those holes for her so that Penny could peek into the yard.
I don’t know why that’s so funny, but it is. It may be the pulsating nostrils. I don’t have sound at work, but I can hear the snorfling in my head.
Very funny, indeed! That nose looks to be sniffing for treats. And, what a nice neighbor to do that for Penny.
Of course she’s policing the areas, she’s a German Shepherd, it’s in her blood.
Why am I so drawn to doing something to that impressive truffle/nose, like booping it?
Has anybody else read or know of Mrs. Murphy Mysteries? Clearly, very late to the game on this but just discovered my first one the other day at the library. Crime solving cats and a corgi?! With the scary stuff possibly occurring in the world right now I will happily retreat to this series.
That sounds very wonderful! I’ll have to look that up. I could use something like that to read right now.
Love that doggy’s nose – It looks enormous! And what a nice neighbor, to do that for her.
Oh that sounds great. I’m going to see if my library has them.
I discovered the books years ago, and loved them! Did not get them all, though, have been too busy working – but now that you reminded me, I will try to get some of the latest ones, need a break from boring work anyway!! 😀
Rita Mae Brown writes them and her name is what caught my eye on the ‘New & Notable’ fiction shelf at my library. I certainly know Rita Mae Brown but had no idea she wrote mysteries with a cat, cat’s friend, corgi and their hoomin as protagonists! I picked up the latest ‘A Hiss Before Dying’ and it is charming!
I just ordered one called Cat Nap from the library.
Oh cool, let us know what you think! 🙂
Will do.
I’ve read and loved all the Mrs Murphy books. I can also recommend her other series, the Sister Jane Books. One of the thing I love about it is that the main character Jane Arnold known as Sister is 70 years old, she is tough and vibrant, she even has a boyfriend! The books are set in Virginia and are based around Fox hunting but don’t let that worry you, no fox is ever caught or harmed in any way.
Thanks Gigi! I will check them out.
Truffle nose! Nailed it!
I am going to think of the three holes as a Boop Trap.
😀 :D!
That nose hole is just the right size for passing doggie biscuits through…
I think somebody planned it that way. Just a hunch.
Such an adorable video!
