Hippo Fiona and Mother Bibi have a play day
They say having kids keeps one young at heart. That seems to be the case for Fiona the plucky hippo, whose love for fun and frolic has rubbed off on mother Bibi. Take a look at the pair, nicknamed BiFi by the Cincinnati Zoo, as they enjoy a mother/daughter day.
Submitterated by Lois M. andĀ Gigi The cat lady. (By the way, father Henry had a small health problem recently, including loss of appetite, but the zoo says he’s eating again and getting better.)
Hadn’t heard about Henry not feeling well. Glad to hear he’s getting his appetite back. That’s a first sign things are going better. His daughter and Bibi are just TOOOO cute frolicking together. Bibi’s getting lots of exercise chasing Fiona around in their pool. Love watching them play. Lois M.
Wow, I thought Fiona’s underwater rolls were impressive, but BIBI! Dang! That was quite a sight!
When I’ve introduced kittens into my adult-cat pack, the adults also start frolicking more.
Sigh, my family also has appetite issues in this insane heat – hm Henry might be our relative we haven’t yet discovered!
“Does this pool make us look beefy?”
Fiona’s getting so big! I’m glad she’s doing so well, but I do miss her tiny blorpiness. And yes, autocorrect, that is a valid word. Ask anyone on this site.
Autocorrect really needs to update their dictionary…
Fiona and her mom are getting along like they were never separated! It’s wonderful to see. They claim Bibi doesn’t know Fiona’s her daughter, but I still have my doubts.
I was just thinking the same thing! I wonder if Bibi feels like she adopted Fiona, if she truly doesn’t recognize her as the little critter she gave birth to. They’re so beautiful to see together.
Aww, poor Henry – glad to hear he is doing better! It’s been such an eventful few months in hippo world.
I love BiFi’s synchronized-swim routine! So much power and grace.
BiFi! I love it! And I love seeing these two!
I’m so glad Bibi and Fiona are having fun together. Bibi can’t resist Fiona either.
That is such a pleasure to watch – aren’t we lucky to have the privilege to do so??? My face hurts from smiling!
Doesn’t have anything to do with hippos but I miss it since I left Germany:
Um……
