    Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee!

I’m glad you found the cute here, RM. It’s a grim world these days, and I understand the emotional flinch from posts that cut too close to the bone. There’s still joy, love, and cuteness in the world, though.

Thanks, DebG! I’m doing my best. This too shall pass—it just hasn’t passed yet.

Oh, good a laugh! That was great, Mike. And what WAS that bird doing????

Oh, I bet it’s a mating display for the female in the background! Birdie’s got style.

Good eye! I didn’t notice the female until you mentioned her and I went back to check.
Took me a couple of viewing before I spotted her too!

      Oh HA!
I saw her, but I thought it was a squirrel.

    Presto Chango!

Maybe he’s trying to disappear because the female watching him with interest already has a displeased mate who is approaching stage left… 😀

    • Ricky's Mom August 24, 2017 / 10:37 am

Or someone is eyeing his berry with interest.

      • Duckie ? August 24, 2017 / 11:24 am

I was eyeing his berry with laughter. I thought he was having a “whattheheck” moment when it stuck to his beak.
Or maybe he was doing the death scene in a ballet…

Now there’s a thought. Invisible Bird in Swan Lake.

Gorgeous birdie! I was completely taken in by his magic trick.

Better than anything on America’s Got Talent this season…

PLEASE WATCH the amusement that is the original video! BTW, this bowerbird is of a species which not only has snazzy feathers to attract the ladies, but the sticks you see behind him is the neat little structure he builds (the “bower”), to which he has added colored items he hopes will appeal:

I love bower birds! I have seen their nests in a documentary and they are so elaborate!

He sounds like any number of lawn implements when he calls. And he seems to be saying, in his mesmerizing way – “All this will be yours”. Awwwww, he didn’t get the girl!

    • Smartypants August 24, 2017 / 6:15 pm

I saw a great nature doc where they put a remote camera near the bower bird’s nest. Some kids came along and took a bunch of the colored trinkets (they weren’t doing it to mess with the bird, they were just curious) – then a while later, we see the kids return, this time with their dad, and carefully put everything back – it was very sweet.

Remember the character on Laugh In who hid in the bushes. Same movement. Aileen can you post a pic please?

    • allein ? August 24, 2017 / 3:57 pm

Laugh In was slightly before my time…took me a little doing to find this (first couple tries got me Sean Spicer and various shows making fun of Sean Spicer).

      • Faye August 24, 2017 / 6:10 pm

Oh god Nazi jokes! Bad timing. Or never good. Person used to hide in bushes and slink out and in after offering candy!

        • Faye August 24, 2017 / 6:13 pm

          But thanks Allein. Lol.
