That’s one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. I’d like to print the image on a blanket and wrap myself in it

Oh, I needed that this morning! Good morning from Central FL–just woke from 2 hrs sleep after being up all night monitoring Irma. I’ve been preparing and dreading this storm for a week now, but this morning everything is so quiet and calm, it’s really eerie. My kitties were kind of nuts last night due to the unusual prep activity, but they gobbled breakfast this morning and are expressing their disapproval that all the screen porch furniture is gone. They are going to be even more unhappy when we lock them inside once the winds start. Not supposed to exceed Cat 1 where I am, but I hope we still have the porch for them tomorrow. If not, hopefully all will be safe and we can rebuild. Thoughts and prayers for all here in Irma’s paths, most especially those animals who do not have someone to take care of them.

Beemoused, best of luck during all of this. I’m here safe in PA but I have the storm coverage on constantly – I almost feel like I’m in the middle of it! I am so concerned about the whole state. And then the poor folks recovering from Harvey and the people dealing with the aftermath of the earth quake in Mexico suddenly have to take a back seat. I feel like what I contribute monetarily is such a tiny drop in the bucket.
All of you in harms way, know that we’re all pulling for you!
PS love this photo – I saved it a while back from somewhere! So it’s in my permanent collection!
Thoughts and prayers to your family and cats, Beemoused. And like you said, for everyone in the path, including animals.
and I am otherwise speechless from Teh Cute. (Baby Bun-buns! Squee!)

Bee safe! I’m watching the Weather Channel, they’re showing Jim Cantore in Ft. Myers, in a helmet and body armor (he’s in a parking lot somewhere). The worst of it hasn’t gotten there, yet; he’s saying the eyewall will hit them in an hour or two. We have a family friend in Ft. Myers, hunkering down in their house (which is built to “hurricane standards” but I don’t know if that includes a cat 4-5). Someone else is in Miami, next to a street that looks like a river, and another guy in Naples, standing next to a (not flooded) street, clearly bracing against the wind. I realize they want to report the storm, but can’t they put these people near a window? We can still see how strong the wind is without them literally standing in it. (He just said they have a shelter 40 feet away, but still. The wrong thing gets picked up by the wind and heads for you, 40 feet away isn’t going to help you.)
On a lighter note, I would like to curl up with this pup and his bunnies.

How do you see The Weather Channel, Allein? Verizon changed to AccuWeather and I hate it – I miss Jim Cantore and cohorts.

It’s channel 62 on Cablevision here.

Thanks – not sure I get that but I’ll have a look.

Now Jim is in the eye wall in Ft. Myers. He doesn’t seem to be struggling quite as much as the other guy in Naples was…for now, at least.
