“Eh, you remind me of my old cat Beelzebub, this was back in 1692, of course. The villagers tried to burn me at the stake, so I put a hex on ’em. And you also look a bit like my old tabby Dupris, who ran with me in the 1800’s down in the bayou. Townspeople tried to hang me, so I put a hex on ’em. And then there was Mr. Jingles, who sat on my desk the whole time I was editor in chief at Vogue…”
Allein S. writes: “Thought I’d pass on a pic my mom just sent me. Stripes cuddling with a new friend.”
Stripes has a lovely expression of calm-sass in that photo Allein! And I am so lack-of-sleep-sore today, could’ve used a couple more hours, so if anyone gets in my way well, I’ll put a hex on βem!
Stripes is a brat. π
I think you say that with pride!:D
Of course!
So, I do not live with the cats. I went after work to visit my mom in the hospital (she’s okay; she’s going home tomorrow) where there are no cats (I hope). When I took the visitor sticker off my shirt, there was a white cat hair stuck to it….
(She was very happy to see Stripes on here again, BTW.)
My favorite scrolldown of the year (though I may be biased π )!
I need to start using the phrase “so I put a hex on ’em”…
Yes. And my best friend is a witch too.
I think Stripes is actually thinking, “Get this damn thing out of my sunny spot!”
Stripes is lovely! And Mike’s story made me snortlaff.
Stripes is one handsome fellow! Beautiful coat, and i love me bratty cats lol. I think he is just trying to get his white fur on that nice black material π
If he really wanted to fur it up, he’d get his sister in there. She sheds way more than he does (she’s got gray on darker gray stripes).
Side note: I made the paper-bag pumpkin on the left. ?
Was that an adult or childhood project? What’s it stuffed with?
I believe it is stuffed with newspaper. Judging from the handwriting of my name on the bottom, I’m guessing I was 7-ish…(I don’t think there’s a date; if there is, I definitely didn’t write it with my magic marker, but I didn’t look that closely).
I am truly impressed at what great shape it is in. All our decorations got pretty heavily battered.
I have no idea where my mother stores these things…
Somewhere in my Christmas boxes I have a popsicle-stick sled ornament that I made in elementary school, too.
We still have a gold-spray-painted macaroni Christmas tree, too. (I think that one was my brother’s.)
It’s really cute, Allein! You were a meticulous little crafter!
Sadly, my arts and craft skills haven’t quite evolved past that level…
Grampa passed away this morning.
So sorry to hear, Duckie. π
I’m so sorry, Duckie. π
I’m sorry. You were there for him in his declining period and I hope that is some comfort to you.
π *hugs*
Dear Duckie, I am so sorry for your loss. Yet still I am glad for your Grampa and you that you had each other so long.
Sending hugs to Duckie β€β€β€
I’m sorry Duckie, sending hugs.
All the hugs, Duckie!
I’m so sorry, Duckie.
Oh Duckie – I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sorry, Duckie. Sending you all the hugs and purrs we’ve got.
Awww Duckie. I am sorry as well. The one person I miss to this day is my Grandpa Barney. Please hold on to some young grandpa stories as tight as you can. Let them replace the last few months. Hugs.
Sorry to hear that, Duckie. My grandparents have been gone a long time and I still miss them.
Oh, Duckie, I’m so sorry – but I think you had a chance to be with him and say goodbye? I hope so – it does the heart good to be able to do that.
Beautiful picture!
BTW, for some reason I’m hearing “so I put a hex on ’em” in the voice of Bartok’s “and I’d kick her, sir.”
Due to my (frightening, at least to me) lack of familiarity with the cultural world of βthese kids today,β when I read Bartok I though the composer Bela Bartok . He wrote some opera but I thought βand iβd kick herβ was unlikely to be a Bartok aria and an animated version of a Bartok piece was also unlikely. Sigh.
Lol…I have actually never seen the movie. Someone posted an animated gif in a meme thread on a facebook group I belong to, and I had to ask where it was from. When I hear “Bartok” my first thought is definitely “Bela,” not cartoon bat (cute as he is).
I don’t even know what movie Bartok is from. And yes, Bela is who comes to mind immediately for me, too! (Boy, he wrote some difficult stuff to play on the piano when I was about 7 and had a sadistic piano teacher who had me try to play a piece that was in a different time signature for each hand!)
Ahem. Anyway, so what movie is it, anyway? I recognize the character, but not the name or anything else other than the pink whatever-it-is. (Pig? Mouse?)
The movie is Anastasia. He’s a bat.
Duckie,
So sorry about the loss of your Grampa. May you find comfort in the memories you shared with him and the love of your family and friends.
